**The OFFICIAL TEAM GIXXER smacktalk thread**

So are you going to buy I? If you do, you certainly could get a bump to A when you are there and that may be what they want anyway.

With that said, I would call STT back. They may not have heard your voicemail.

Oh okay
That's probably a great idea too...

Gonna run the dates by my boss (Aileen) then I will give a call back to stt. May just sign up for I and ask for a follow evaluation to get bumped to A. Everyone would probably feel better this way anyway.

Make sure you buy her a gift first and then sneak it in there

So I want to thread jack for a minute. Was talking with a friend last week about bikes and he said the busa is too heavy and slow to do what he wants. I was just wondering if a gen1 busa can keep up with a 06 cbr600 on a track. Both of us are street riders with no track time. I know I would have to upgrade my brakes to have a chance with him but other than that is the busa capable ?

I did a whole summer of track days on my BUSA. Believe me it is very capable. Charlesbusa probably did 4 years or more of track days on a busa. Pan had two tracked out BUSA's and he loves them....pm I'm sorry what was the question?

It all would come down to the RIDER, and to a lesser extent, the TRACK.

In the proper hands, and on the right track, the Busa is an MONSTER. Here's the deal: With all other things being equal, you can't outbrake him, and you can't outcorner him, but you can smear him all over the track on corner exit and straights....The busa corners better than you think it does, it's just not so easy to turn in the big girl as she has more rotating mass and weight than the 600 does...but you have TWICE the motor, hp and torque....

But the same is true with other bikes...I routinely get passed by riders on 600's on my literbike, because they are better riders. But with equal riders, it's not happening...

New pads and good tires...go put a spankin on him!

Well thanks guys. I know it comes down to rider and I know if it was any of you guys I wouldn't have a chance. We are both pretty close but I think he is just a little better than I am. I just didn't like him talking like the busa is a harley and can't corner. I figured I'm going to start practicing more this summer and take him to a track next spring to show him what's up. I also have a 06 1000 and when I'm on that in the corners it feels planted, same corner on the busa and I have this feeling the front end is going to wash out on me. Is that just how busas feel in hard corners or do I need to rebuild my front forks. 31,000 miles on them.

You need to make sure your suspension is set up for your weight. With 31K I'd say you are due a fluid change and some seals. With that you'll also need good tires at proper pressure and she'll turn with the best of them. You can drag knee and all kinds of hard parts without the front washing.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I figured with that many miles I should probably rebuild them before this happens. I have been running q2s but at street psi and never had it to the track yet. Hopefully I can get it to the track once this year. I just don't like that feeling and was wondering if its the bike or just in my head lol

For rocking that Busa at the track... How about a Team Gixxer sticker? PM me your addy if you want one.

Wow you all have been busy on this thread. I have been too busy to keep up. Chris, if you are going in September, I am skipping August and coming in September.
