The replacement killer litre...

man, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw your new avatar in another post. WTF? You didn't like the 636? Not enough power? I thought you say the 10 was more power that you would ever need.
Anyway, I am glad you like it and your happier than ever.
BEKAFUL!

The 636 also had more power than I needed for street twisty riding. The problem was I absolutely hated the high winding nature of a 600 for my uses. To stay in the useable power in the twisties I had to turn it to 10K RPM and higher. I found that I much prefer the torque and "any gear, any RPM" pull of a litre. I guess starting out on a busa and stepping down to a 10R before I got a 600 spoiled me. And yeah, the 10R is still extreme overkill as far as total power output. At the same time though, it's PERFECT when used at less than wide fuggin' open in street twisties. I'll never use all the top end power a 10R has, but I will definitely use the hell out of the lower end and midrange of it.

Great choice man! Very sweet ride. Good buddy of mine got one and loves it!

You got the right color though! A Kawi has gotta be green!

Congrats!
Yeah, when I finally decided to go Kawi again it just had to be true Kawi all the way. Nothing says Kawi like their trademark lime green.

ummm.. I thought I told you to get a BUSA!!

Nice bike.. I like the green, mostly because it's more visible.

Good Job BT!

Wait, anyone started betting on how long THIS one will be in Chris' stable?!

I'm just kidding...kidding...

Congrats and enjoy it! It sure is GREEN!!!

No offense here BT I am just calling it like I see it. You seem to have an issue of the first few weeks that you have a new bike you are convinced it's the greatest thing on 2 wheels and that you made an awesome decision and then mod it and then next thing we know it's being sold. I am glad your digging the Kawi but with no experience with the new gixxer I just wouldn't be surprised to see you on a new bike a few months from now once you ride someone elses or something. We'll see what happens. lol

Another change bro, what's the deal "middle age crisis? LOL. Looks good BT as always.
Thanks man. Haven't seen much out of you since I've been back on the board. Have I just missed your posts or have you been kinda scarce lately?

Anyway, hope all is well with ya. Good to hear from you.

And the mid life crisis comment is more accurate than you think.

I've never been one to follow orders very well. Sorry.

And yeah, it is a lot more visible than Diablo was. Since I wear all black gear I guess I need a bike that can be seen.

those rims look light!!!

the exhaust and front fender skirts gotsta go!
I'm with ya on the exhaust... Lookin' at probably putting an Akrapovic EVO II titanium system and PCIII on it to take care of that.
wink.gif
Not sure what you mean by front fender skirts though?
rock.gif
You talkin' about the black side panels on the front fender?
rock.gif

And yeah, the rims are probably lighter than most other stock rims, but not as light as what I'm thinkin' about puttin' on it.

I guess I've done some expensive experimenting so far. So what of it?
rock.gif
And unless my financial situation really, *REALLY* changes and I'm able to own two new litres you won't see me on a new Gixxer anytime soon. I'm curious about the K5/K6 but at the same time I'm tired of buying/selling bikes and taking equity hits on them. I'm about out of equity as well. Only had $1800 equity to put on the new 10 this time. If I swap again anytime soon I'll end up in the hole. Not willing to do that just to satisfy a curiousity I have regarding the Gixx. Up until now though I could swap for something else I wanted to try and still have equity.

Sure, I've blown some jack, but I consider it an "entertainment expense". I can't tell you how valuable it has been for me to get to really try out all three major classes of inline four sportbikes. I guess I've basically "rented/leased" the first 10R and the '05 636. Put a few miles on the 10R and didn't get much more than a few good "test rides" on the 636, but now I've experienced the busa, the 10R, and the baddest ass 6 in the world. Instead of basing my bike choices on what someone says in a magazine or on an internet forum I can now make an educated decision as to what I want to hold onto for a while and RIDE.

Based on my time on all three bikes that I see as best in their class for my wants/needs, the litre class is the best "compromise" for me (dang near busa power levels with dang near 600 class weight/handling) and the 10R fits and feels the best out of all the litres (The only suspension in the litre class that feels like it's sprung firm enough for my fat ass right out of the dealership). I have no reason to get a different bike unless I get a big promotion/raise or come into money via other means (come on lotto!) and decide to add to the stable. I don't plan on this 10R leaving me anytime in the near future.

But yeah, we'll see what happens.

pisser...and I thought I was gonna catch a glimpse of some killer lustre shots.

Really though....I've been missing those quality shots, bro...
