Me and the wife were driving past a suzuki dealer when a brand new busa LE was parked in its driveway. I just had to stop and take a look at it.
It was waiting to be picked up by its new owner and oh, wait, here he comes. I tell him nice bike.
He replies with yeah, I figured I give these jap bikes a chance, I'm a harley guy. Then he puts a bandanna over his head along with a little skull cap
mounts the bike, puts it in gear, took off with to much gas and just as he's getting on his way me and this dude standing by just looked at each other and said what the flug is he doing and then it happened. Crash! He didn't even make it 50 feet away. Brand new copper Le down. We run over, help him up and roll the bike right back in the dealership. You had to see his face. He was fine except for a rip in his jeans and his ego. I could never forget how he said what he said to us, Like I drive harleys so jap bikes aint shiot. Thats exactly how he said it. I have a few friends with harleys who think jap bikes are junk. I tell them they just wouldn't know how to handle one and therefor are just scared of em.

i live very close to the dragon aka deals gap -i have riddin it plenty
believe me when i tell you , you for sure want to ride the white line and keep it under 40 mph and you MIGHT live
half dozen or so a year die on that 11 mile stretch of road without fail-
i must admit it seems to be mostly hardly able-son riders tho --poor handling and equipment

Look at pic#2, that front tire is at a dead stop, he locked up the front brakes in a panic trying to bleed off some speed. Too late though.

actually ... He saves it in the next couple photos , he pulls out of it , and rides the rest of the way down the mountain , I cant seem to find the next couple pics , damn , where did I put those ?

saves it......yea! SURE! He was going DOWN!

That had to hurt! Bet it was a spendy little spill too!

He is waving at the camera with his hand in the first pic and his foot in the last one.

My money is on that engine guard touching down before the floorboards. That would lever his wheels up for sure.
I'll take that bet. On a Road King the right side floorboard (the back corner actually) touches before anything else. It is however hinged and will move start moving up to give you more clearance. Then the frame hits. On the left side, you'll get into the side stand first.

This one started off with the same size lip all the way around.

Ill agree with that, we ride road kings as well , and scrape the floorboards all the time, thats when you know to back off a little.
