Thoughts on cruisers??

I did the Trans American trail on mine, Tennessee all the way to Portland Oregon, 60% dirt 40% pavement. I get around 60 miles to the gallon, range is around 140 miles. My Husky struggles in 6th gear around 50 mph, have to go back to 5th, so cruising on the highway at 80 mph is a breeze. I would not go pavement touring on it though doing a 500 mile trip, the Busa is for that and it fits me like a glove. I just think lugging +600lbs of iron around on a slow bike is absolutely crazy.

To each his own dude....

Don’t like cruisers cool that’s your opinion!!!

I think it’s crazy that somebody who doesn’t like cruisers spends his time crapping on a thread about cruisers??? Start your own thread and mind you and yours Geez!!!

This thread was started on January 30 2013 and the original poster asked an opinion on cruisers. I did not crap on the thread, I gave my opinion. In 2013 I had a cruiser, been there done that, it is part of my experience and my opinion.

We do not have to agree on everything to be kind towards each other.

Dude I’m the original poster.... don’t need reminded of what I posted. I asked opinions then and now but I don’t need cruisers compared to your dual sport bike or your so called accolades on them

Be kind huh...??? Your the 1 calling people crazy cause they want to ride on “big heavy slow bikes”
Plenty of people have commented on here they cruisers aren’t for them but didn’t talk down or have a condescending attitude. So again I state go start your own thread and stop mucking up mine!!!

KICK ROCKS

You win. If you ask for an opinion in the future I will only respond if we have the same opinion.

What about we all take a deep breath and refresh on a new title ... "Thoughts on mopeds" . I'll start , I got no thoughts at all on mopeds ...:)

Well, if I didn't ride motorcycles...I'de ride a moped.
Friend of mine used to have a couple pocket bikes, scooters, and mopeds. It was fun for 5 or 6 of us to cruise around....and I always bust my ass trying scooter wheelies.

As for cruisers, I can't stand anything that I have to look through a windshield when I ride. Defeats the purpose of a bike to me(and I don't mean a sportbike windshield, you have to tuck in for speed and they have a purpose).
I really liked the Goldwing from a few years ago, with the small, short windshield and small tailbags. A windshield I could look over, not through.
Cruisers are fun to, well, cruise, but I really wish they all had a little more peg clearance, I always seem to drag hard parts in corners, no matter how hard I try not to.

That's all I got for now, you guys can go back to bashing 1busa again, lol

Your spelling

It's a "wimpshield"

Yeah.....Well try riding 18+ hours on highways and get back to me on using a “wimpshield”. Main reason I got rid of that Nightrod was because it didn’t have a fairing. Riding around town or backroads was fine. Logging a couple hours of straight highway miles would physically take a toll.

Then you factor riding in the cold, rain , or Both!!! Having that fairing or windshield extends the amount of time you can ride in the saddle. Now I can ride 8-10 hours straight and hop off and still feel fresh no problem

The no winshield is just Me.
The longer I've ridden on a bike with one, the less I like it, and bug guts pile up.
Looking through a windshield(other than tucked on a sportbike) reminds me too much of being in a car.
The wind has never bothered me.
