After I came home from work today I was in the yard when I was biten by a 4 foot rattle snake.
Immediately, I grab rattle snake by the head and tail, and he's a biggun.
I go into the house where the wife is talking on the phone.
The snakes tail is rattling... and it's plenty loud.
I scream:
"Kim.... help, I've been biten by a rattle snake".
So walks around the corner, while talking on the phone, to see me holding a 4 foot rattle snake and looking a bit worried.
She screams!
"AHHH! Cecil's been bite by a rattle snake and hangs up the phone".
I tell her:
"I feel faint... I don't want to let him go... he's really aggressive...
I think I'm gonna pass out".
Now of course she is concerned for my well-being....
but way more concerned that I am gonna drop this 4 foot rattle snake in the house.
Unlike my kids and I, the wife does not care much for snakes.... especially venomous ones.
You have to understand.... in our household.... somebody is always gettin hurt, so she is not entirely surprised.
I fall to my knees and lean against the wall... and start to fade out
This is when she call's 911.
At this point, I had to stop her, and let her in on the joke.
The snake was dead, and I had NOT been biten, it was a prank.
She was not laughing.... in fact, she's pissed!
So as I ran for my life down the street holding this snake.... I am laughing so hard it hurts...
here's a couple pics... enjoy:

So here's the back drop...
We are pretty outdoors friendly and are always coming across wildlife.
Just a couple of weeks ago a caught a 4 foot aligator where we set up a rope swing (Hillsborough River).
Anyway...
My neighbor came across a dead rattle snake today... it had recently been run over.
He is a good ole boy so he through it in the back of the truck to show the kids.
I just could not pass up the opportunity to stress out the wife.
