Thats why they have the photo's and video gone over by technicians. They determine if it's an actual red light infraction or not, they then send what they believe is an infraction to the police who then go over it again as they usually know the area better then the technicians. These 'what if I got a ticket for doing this' just don't happen.sometimes you cant.why not just "Stop" for the redlight? kind of simple concept I thoughtscrew those red light cameras. i make it a point to avoid those intersection
you know when your turning left at an intersection. you have the green light but there is no break in on coming traffic so you Wait to they get the yellow but someone runs the yellow? so what do you do? sit in the middle of the road, no you go, i seen the cameras flash a plate of a car the other day for that very same thing. i think most of us would not like to be stuck in the road but that means a ticket.
so some people here sit in the middle so they don't get the ticket.
Also, +1 on accountability. Public awareness campaigns do nothing but waste money, they only work if people actually care and I find most people feel their time is more important then everybody elses. I'd rather they pay to put up a camera and let the violators pay for it with fines. I say use the funds to better equipe the LE/Fire departments for the given areas. They're the ones that have to deal with the aftermaths of people running the lights and god only knows they don't get paid enough for what they do. And I also agree, you give people rights and they abuse them, then they ***** when those rights get taken away. Maybe we need to stop looking at things as being our Rights, and instead look at it as a privilege.
