turbo coming soon

MR.TURBO IS MAKING A TURBO NOW.IT SUPPOSED TO BE READY BY NOVEMBER,AND AVAILABLE IN DECEMBER.AND GET THIS ALL FOR AROUND 3500.00 CALL THEM FOR DETAILS

Frank,

been a while....

The Dyna 4000 in my drag bike has a **stand-alone** module available to retard the timing in multiple stages and is triggered by voltage or continuity. This unit (as I'm sure you're already familar with) simply plugs inline from the pulser coils to the 4000 via the four wire connector.

This is the question (and I'm not really sure) - Is to possible to take this (or maybe even MSD's, they have one too) technology and attach it to whichever triggering mechanism the Busa uses without interfering with the rest of the electronics? What about MPS? I think they recently came out with a stutter for our multi coil bikes. Maybe they would get started on a retard if there were enough wanting one...

Rob

frank, supposely mr.turbo says the new bikes have a lot of retard from the new bikes today.that for street use it would be okay

The Busa uses a crank position sensor for triggering in combination with a cam position sensor to accurately tell the ECM where the pistons are and which cylinder is in need of spark. The crank sensor is just like the GSXR750's except there is twice as many coils for the pick-up to pass over. (should be even more accurate)
There has to be a company out there that can intercept the signal from each of these sensors and alter it based on RPM.
The power commander can do it now, but only at 4000 rpm and above.
Are you saying that the Mr. turbo Kit does nothing with timing? What is the max. boost available with this kit? what compression do they recommend as a starting point?
I guess i should call them.
Bob

that is confermed david g.

it was explained to me the
same way you put it.

question is....what is the
max amount of boost you could
run with this on the busa?

how much hp could we possible
see before it becomes time
to look for additional help
in the retard department?

The timing as stated will not be a problem at LOW boost. I have a turbo bike that has had NO TIMING MODS (stock ignition) and runs at 15 psi of boost on C-16, up to 8 psi on pump gas. Timing is less with the newer motors due to efficiency. The older motors had the timing set really high.

There are many schools of thought on this. Many turbo builders prefer the stock ignition specs, as the combustion chamber has such good fast flame travel, and a properly intercooled boosted motor should not have to be ignition retarded. When the ignition IS retarded, the exhaust sees a lot more temperature, as much of the energy is lost out the exhaust pipe. Also, with the aggressive cam timing now being used, actual compression is much less than static compression. Since I personally have an antiquated draw through turbo system, I cannot use an intercooler and MUST retard my timing over a certain amount of boost. This wastes power but saves pistons. RB racing is a firm believer in stock ignition and stock ignition settings for GSXR turbo motors (see his new web site - www.rbracing-rsr.com), as is MC Express from Sweden who makes all of Mark Moisans (A.T.S.) turbo kits. RB racing actually recommends AGAINST lowering the compression in GSXR turbocharged motors. The Hayabusa's cylinder head flows a lot of air and the bike would be an ideal candidate for a turbocharger. There have been reports of over 340 HP in very early development stages. We are talking SERIOUS power potential here folks!

MC express is coming out with one in Jan 2000 they say 10 units will be ready for sale

I have emailed MC express about the turbo several days ago and no answer yet.

Have any of you had any luck with them?

I want one of those turbos just not the first ones !!!

If they have a fault its theyr ability to answer e-mails. They work all day on the bikes and the phone is ringing ALL the time. They are only 4 peoples working there and,,,
enough of the exuses. Just e-mail me and Ill talk to him. And send an e-mail back ( if this isnt getting me a free Turbo, nothing is...hehehe ).

Rotts4u - RottsOLuck

I emailed them quite a while back as well and I haven't received any response either.

Yngve, what gives? They speak english, right?

Just got off the phone with Mr turbo and they (Art) are saying that the kit will be available as off January not as of November as reported above.

If anyone gets info on the cost of the MC unit will they please post it. I think that they are going to need to make more than 10!!

Last time I spoke to Mc-Xpress they said around 50,000,- swedish kroner. thats around 6000 US$.
But U really have to talk to Mark Moisan about it. He is importing it to the states and I guess he will charge around 5000-5500 $. ( Because the swedish price is included a vat on 25% )
