Undertail?  Which is best?

Your undertail and LEDs look great. I ordered the same undertail with black LEDs from Dynamic Bikes for my 04 Purple and Black. After seeing your pic I'm glad I did. Are those Libertek LEDs?
 
Will the Texas Tail walk through work for the UFO install? The directions that CSC sent aren't quite up to par. But the piece looks great.

I'm not real clear on where I'm supposed to cut. Do I just cut off the old fender along the body line? Do I cut the painted section of the body?
 
Check the Allied Barter instructions again, but the hardest part of installing the new undertail will be cutting enough of the old fender off. You literally have to score the old fender where it meets the tail fairing. After that remove the tail fairing, finish the cut and replace. You will probably have to repeat a couple times to make sure you get enough. As you make each set of cuts also place the new undertail in position to see how it fits. Take your time and you won't have any problems.
 
Thanks, I figured it out. Looks great so far. I'm now trying to figure out how to use that carbon fiber license plate mount they sent I assume they want me to drill holes through the new undertail (not sure I want to mess up that work of art). The mount isn't wide enough to line up with the license plate holes either. Maybe I'll just order a plate relocator and mount it on the swing arm?

Did that first link have a plate relocator on it? All I saw was a big ole' chest!

NO!!! You dont want to drill holes on that nice undertail.

Hey Vince how much did your undertail come out too including the lights.
 
LEDs aren't cheap. I paid more than $300 for mine, but have since seen the same ones for about $250.
 
Looks very nice, Rich! Great color match and both lenses look good. Have never dealt with 'stmachine', so I couldn't say anything good or bad about them.
