We did get the big path result tonight. It was not really pleasant news, the cancer had spread to the nodes around the colon.

I will be facing some chemo in about a month, but I am still strong and I know we are going to beat this.

(PDBusa @ Aug. 22 2007,21:59) Whatever you may need. Please don't hesitate to ask.
yeah what he said... anything at all. My mother is a cancer pain specialist, has run a chemo center and knows lots of folks in the field....so if there's anything you need Kevin, just let me know.

You'll get through this, be strong and dont hesitate to ask for anything you need. Make sure you talk to the doctors and get all the information you can about the treatment(s)....and again, if there's anything you want to know, just ask, we will get you the information.

Hey Kevin, just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you today! Like all the others have said....if ya need any thing just ask. We are here fo ya! Heal up quick my friend.

Hang tough brother. You will beat this and it will be just an unpleasant memory soon. We are all praying for you.

Kevv we hve never chatted or crossed paths, but i was very moved by your story, keep your head up and maybe when u get the time or energy u could pm me some signs, your symtons that triggered you to go to the doctors? u mentioned digestive problems etc...... I ave some concerns for myselve and just want to know what i should be looking for-txs and wish you a speedy recovery, i am 36 years old and have some issues, just if u can share your experience i t would help, i just dont want to freak out my family, my dad is terminal and it would be to much for eveyone to endure.

Ty, I'm sorry to hear about your father

I can surely understand you being hesitant to add even more stress on your loved ones, but I can't impress enough how important it is to get screened early if you have concerns.  The alternative is not good; I lost my stepfather to colon cancer 2 years ago and it was a 5 year process of him going down...

I'm certain Kevin will give you some insight that will be very useful, but in the mean time, consider just talking to your family doctor about this.  Knowing that everything is okay means a lot...best of luck and my thoughts are with your family with regards to your father...

The issues I had were a difficulty in going to the bathroom, no blood, just lots of straining with little or no results. After 2-3 weeks, I went to a GP. With arun of antibobies and no improvement, an emergecy colonospcy was scheduled. That is when the cancer was found.
