Hey Kevin, we are all wishing the best for you, but if you cant ride at the bash, you gotta do what helps you get better quickest, you need to come anyway if at all possible, it just wouldnt be the same with you bro. You are still in my thoughts and prayers.

It really just depends on what the doc says next week. I am going to try to have the chemo start in Oct so I can make one more ride this year.

Just a bit of an update:

I went to the surgeon today to have my incision site and drain tube inspected. I have devloped an infection on the incision site. The staples were removed and so was the tube.

At the site of the infection, it is about 2" long and once opened back up, about 2" deep. Nothing a little antibiotic cant fix.

This little infection may have double duty...It will take at least 2 weeks for the infection to completly heal. So I know no futher surgery will be scheduled until all is healed. So no chemo will be done this month.......

Which means....I should be at the Fall Bash!

take care of yourself Kevin ... dont rush anything and make sure you get plenty of rest

let me know if you need anything

I did meet with the cancer doc yesterday. I knew it was coming and I will be having a PET scan later in the week to see if the cancer has spread anywhere else, most common would be the liver.

If it has spread, I would be classified as a stage 4 cancer patient...which is really not a good thing. I hope and pray that is HAS NOT spread.

My infection is still healing and hopefully it will be healed in 10 more days according to the Doc today. That way I can start my treatment plan. I cant have my port put in until after the infection heals.

I have started a couple of drugs to combat the numbness I may have to face. If I have to experience them, I know God will get me through the side effects.

I was told last night to keep up my regular schedule, including playing softball and riding as long as I have the energy.

I have my PET scan scheduled for Monday at 2:30. I am more terrified about the results of the scan more than the surgery itself....

The scan will come back clean...just keep thinking that Kev. You're going to be just fine

I've had my CAT scanned, is that the same as scanning your PET?
