Wax on Wax off

Re: Best Polish-Wax for Motorcycles

BIG SECRET REVEALED...

Virtuoso guitar polish -- the cleaner and polish -- two bottles, is sold at Guitar Center. It is far and away the best cleaner/polish for $$$ guitars. I used it on the '07 red Busa yesterday -- both steps -- and the bike looks absolutely new. It has a deep color that is WAY bettere than before. I'm amazed and the stuff is made for nitro lacquer finishes so it is very gentle.

Best polish I ever used...

Ernie Balls works good too!

Re: Best Polish-Wax for Motorcycles

Just to reitereate...

Pledge = Zero 0 nada UV protection. So enjoy the shine, while you still have paint.

IF you ride to the winghouse once a month, keep it in the garage and put a
couple thousand miles a year, no biggie.

If you ride daily or a lot and/or park in the sun...good luck.

Put all the laughing icons you want on it...I ain't trusting my baby to furniture
POLISH. There are enough good wax products out there that I KNOW provide protection.

I'll throw down my shine and I KNOW my paint is protected...

Re: pledge

I bought Pledge today.

I had to explain to my wife what it was for.

Although there were several kinds and wasn't sure if one was better.

Re: Best Polish-Wax for Motorcycles

I use the Turtle wax "ICE" detailer between Zimol waxs. Bike always looks good and is easy to wash after getting caught in these freak wind/rain storms we have up here.

Re: pledge

so u use pledge to clean or add shine? entire bike or just wheels?

and were speaking of the wood pledge correct?

If it's really dirty/dusty, I soak a towel in hot water and wipe down the whole bike, dry it, then Pledge the entire bike....wheels, too.

Yes, the wood Pledge. I use the Lemon...the one in a yellow can but it doesn't really matter which one you use.

I always buy the Lemon kind but I don't think it matters as long as it's the one in aerosol can.

Please don't forget the pics. Thanks.:beerchug:

Re: pledge

I used Pledge on my wheels today. :Dust just wiped right off.

I know what you mean. That's what I love about it. Sometimes I just use a duster when I get home from riding. By the way, don't forget to use it on your helmet, too.

How about sharing some pics with us?:please:

Is there a particular type of pledge you are using is there one you dont want to use, Does it work on Chrome. ???

Is it as easy as spraying it on then wiping it off ???

Re: Pledge Question

Floridians prefer the Orange scent...

Yes its pretty easy 'Wipe on Wipe off'

Not sure on the chrome as I have none but it should be fine.

Fear not Pledges secret agent SleepLess_Red will be here soon with the lowdown..

Re: Pledge Question

Buy the lemon, ORANGE is not good.

Ah, yet another weird product for a motorcycle site to review! Yes, you can use it on your motorcycle vinyl and leather seats, but what is the other great purpose we found for it? You will just have to keep reading to find out...

Telling anyone you are going to use Pledge wood polish on your motorcycle is a guaranteed way to get them to look at your wierdly. First thing they think is, you got wood on your bike? What year is it?....

We tried different versions, but buy the Lemon aerosol version only. Others may not work as well or leave a buildup. The lemon one is the yellow can, common version you'll find forsale almost anywhere.

We found amazing results on rubber and plastic bike parts. Even on black painted parts it worked well! Plus, it leaves a nice lemony scent as you clean the bike! haha.

Spray directly into a very soft cloth and run in on your rubber and plastic bike parts. It works, it works great! Better in fact than Armor All, Simonize and other rubber/plastic products we have tested to date.

As I've said, it works great on plastic of any colour and even on windshields and helmet visors as well. No, it doesn't turn clear plastic a yellow tint, it leaves no waxy buildup. It works like Rain-X in the rain and makes bugs come off easy as well as the dirt and dust. Rubber and plastic become more rich and dark in colour and the richness in uniform.

Make sure you polish it into the surface and don't leave areas of buildup or runs.

The only problem with using this product in this way is after you wash your bike, you'll have to reapply it again. But then, it smells great...

The cost is on the lower side for what the product is and does compared to other competing products. Seen how much windshield plastic cleaner/polish is lately?
This product is very easy to find and any disount store most likely will carry it.

Re: Pledge Question

I haven't had any issues or noticed any difference with orange or rainforest shower...

I also just saw a thread where the owner used pledge on his chrome rims and they turned out great...
