something is wrong with your motorcycle (or with you).

well im not getting the info i wanted so i guess i will do something else far as articules ive seen them go one way and another far as the troll talk thats crap just cause i got beat dont mean something up lets grow up i mean whats next is your dad gonna beat up my dad well i guess in the future i will not bring it again i should have said i just wanted a little more performance out of my busa didnt know everyone was so sensative

Fairlane, do the smaller front sprocket, change to a BMC air filter and find a new dealer. The 10 is an awesome bike, but I have not gone up against one on a stock Busa. As far as my bike goes, the 10 ate lots of dust behind me...LOL

Have a shop check your TPS (throttle position sensor) because they are not all set right when new. Get a third person to signal the start, because the person starting the race has a big advantage. Good luck on the next race.

The zx10 are fast but the dealer saying that both bikes stock the 10 will win every time is bullshit. I ride almost every weekend with my friends and there are a couple of 10's,busas & gsx1000 and everyone beats one another. Try switching bikes with your bro to see what happens. I am not saying your brother is a better rider than you but try it to see what happens.

Fairlane,

What gear were you in when you started?

If you were doing a roll on @ 90mph, then I would suggest you start the roll-on in 3rd gear. The ONLY way a ZX10 would pass you doing a wheelie is if you were in 5th or 6th gear when you rolled the throttle open. I've had my Busa doing 70mph in 1st gear, and it only took about 2 sec to roll-on from 10-70mph in 1st. 3rd will have NO problem running up to about 130!

Hope it helps.

P.S. If you introduce yourself prior to the rest of the story you would probably get a better response up from.

Ride safe.

fairlane, see if from our point of view: we get a non-stop line of fakers from other cycles message boards coming into our 'Busa family, PRENTENDING to be a busa owner and trying to start crap. We usually ferret them out pretty quickly: "I got a busa and was just beat by BrandX cycle" etc etc etc Who was that one clod that kept getting beat by a 1980's Honda 650? ? Was his clutch really slipping? Did we ever hear back? Ever? I mean a 650! That wasn't even a GOOD story

So, you see, with no previous history of being legit here, your post sounded like total BS [Bologna Serving]... EXACTLY like a fake or a 'troll'. Respect our perspective and reaction? We generally love ALL bikers on here, but don't care too much for trolls.

If you are for real with your post, stick around, and I GUARENTEE you will get more, better info here than ANY other message board. We welcome everyone with open arms.

... except trolls.

I think the information you seek has been given to you. Switch sprockets and that's all she wrote. Otherwise match his mods and you will beat anyone.

What colors is your baby and did you get the factory installed clear signal lenses like the ones tha came on my 2003 busa?

I'd guess rob t over BT in this case. Look at the puncuation!

Please use some punctuation. It makes your post easier to read, and can help to get the right information across more accurately.

Thanks.

Drop one on the front sprocket and it will seem like you added 10-20HP for $20.

I can't believe how many of you guys bit on this troll? Fairlane is working you guys like a second job!

Isn't that right, Bullet?

Can a ZX-10 pop a wheelie at 90+mph and still have enough power to pass a busa?
I know with my busa I can pop the front wheel up in 2nd gear at 80 mph, but still.... if you're racing you want to keep the wheel down... you loose too much speed when lifting the wheel (especially if you're holding it up there).

With the 16t front sprocket mine will wheelie (power wheelie, but the front tire is off the ground regardless) in the top of fourth gear... At full throttle in fourth just after the tach sweeps 8k the front wheel starts to float and eventually comes up a few inches and the thing is pullin' like a freight train. Would it pull on a busa while doin' that? I don't know. Haven't ran one yet...

I knew I'd get blamed for this... hence my first post in this thread.

Fwiw though... I wonder how many of you that are commenting here about what kind of match a 10R is, or is not for a busa have actually taken down a 10R on your *STOCK* busa?
rock.gif
I'm not sayin' either way. I've said before that the 10R feels like it pulls harder up to around 150, but I know feel isn't an accurate indicator here. Neither are magazine numbers though.

Definitely a troll. If he owned a Busa you would think he would already be a member here. So he gets beat by a bike, now he feels compeled to log on and tell us all about it? Yeah right.

You see many many years ago, I had a brother too and I thought he was a good brother.  We played in the sun, in the sandbox and on the swings and simply enjoyed our youth........................
We need to talk about making this story into a movie, it's definitely better than Biker Boyz AND Torque...

hello everyone new comer here and i got a problem!i have a 2003 busa and i lov it but the problem is my brother bought one of those darn zx10 he was telling me how he was gonna smoke me after he broke it in.i just laughed and said we will see thought i had nothing to worry about.sunday he came over on it and away we went.it was a little chilly here in pa (37)but who cares to the highway we go!!i hate to be the one to say this but he beat me icouldnt believe it the only time i had a half a chance was a 90 mph roll on i got the jump on him and thought i had him but once again i was wrong he wheelied past me i was so mad i went home and put it away!i took my busa to my dealer and had them check it out they said every thing was fine and asked me why i brought it in and and i told them i got smoked by a zx10 and they told me a stock busa and a stock zx10 that the zx10 will win everytime i was so mad i got on my bike and left.I didnt tell my brother anything yet but when we race again i wanna smoke him!!!! what mods can i do to achieve this keep in mind i wanna remain the stock look meaning no pipes any info is greatly appreciated thanks alot
If you got beat by your brother who was riding a ZX-10, then it comes down to one of two things.

1) Something is / was mechanicaly wrong with your Busa

or

2) Your brother is a way better rider than you.

Most of the sports bikes now are so close it often comes down to who is a better rider. Equal riders, one on a Busa, one on a ZX-10, unless the Busa rider is having a bad day, the Busa will win..

Acknowledge your brother is a better rider and leave it at that.

Welcome to the board

I have raced a 10 that had more mods done to it then my busa. One of my friends (who is just as good of a rider as me if not better) was riding it at the drag strip for the owner. We ran a couple of times and every single time I would pull back around him at about the 330' mark (the only reason he was getting the jump on me off the line was because the 10 was extended 6" and my busa is stock wheelbase). Then we decided to start slow off the line and then do a couple roll ons side by side and I pulled on the 10 from the get go on every run. I have also pulled on every other busa I have ran with similar mods to mine. So maybe I got a really strong busa, maybe not. You are correct about the liter bikes feeling faster because the busa delivers its power so smooth and the liters have a power band. All i know is that in MY real world testing the zx10 comes up short.

Well, it actually comes down to 3 things:

1. Mechanical problem with the Busa.

2. The rider is knowledgable about his bike.

3. Someone is lying their but off!

Anyway, if he's a troll he'll hang him self with enough rope.  If he had a 99 Busa for almost 3 years, you would think he knew something about it's real capabilities (unless he's scared of it. In that case WHY buy another one)!
wink.gif

Either way, the story doesn't add up very well.  I'm not too impressed by people doing the "The Busa's not the baddest bike" thing, because they haven't been able to prove it.
