Well, i've seen dmg-bike is repairable...

Scott: Glad to see your outlook has changed from a few days ago. Hope Amy is doing well. And hopefully you'll have the Busa up and running in no time!

Wow...somehow I missed all this. Hope you and your soon to be bride get better fast.
Make a list of what you need,I have some stuff hanging around.

Some money saving tips.

* If you can repair the plastics - do it! Paint the bike on your own using RHINO paint. That will give the bike a tough exterior and the look to match your "bad-ass bouncer" image ;)

* Go for the naked look...just a spot of fairing here and there...

* Get some sheet metal and make your own METAL fairings...

* Strip the bike and use it for track-days

* Make it a "sleeper" using some old Katana fairings...

Ouch, hate seeing the bike like that, but it all looks fixable...give Amy our best and I hope she heals up fast...good for you for helping her with the business

Don't know about professional advice, but when my son was 5 at preschool he slipped and ground one side of his face on a concrete sidewalk- looked like a burn when I got there to pick him up. I was so afraid he would be scarred, but immediately put Neosporin triple antibiotic ointment on it and kept it on it and it healed perfectly in about a week!
Don't think you want lotions on a scrape like that, I would try the antibiotic and talk to a dermatologist. Please, no offense, but is that her in your avatar?

If so, call several doctors!!!

P.S.- She will still look great in black leather head to toe!

ok..I'll step up. I know it's early but I can furnish stock mirrors and handlebars and levers.

I'll dig around and wait for a parts list.

If insurance will cover damage then that would be my route.

PM what you need and your address and let us know.

hogger...

bike is guna be on the back-burner for a few weeks...family reunion this weekend n when I get back, have to oversee Amy's work for her-she owns/operates housecleaning buisness for uh, well, folks that make a a55load of money n have houses too big to want to clean it themselves, n a few offices too. So, Big Diesel is going to be Mr. Clean for a few weeks till she can move around and handle working by herself. Wont be doing any modeling till all the scars are healed and smoothed out...BTW, anyone have any favorite cream/antibiotics that they use on roadrash? I dont care about price, just need to get her skin back to 100% ASAP. I picked up  Mederma creme n Neosporin Scar Solution patches but I'm open to suggestions, so throw'em my way via PM please. Thanks in advance!!!!

N for those that missed what happend-see my post from saturday 06-24...dont wana re-hash here.

Hopefully we'll all be back to normal by the fall Bash-me, Amy, n the Busa...if so, we'll definitely make the trip to say hi to all you great guys (and gals). Stay safe out there folks.:)

Well, on second thought, maybe not. lol

thanx for all the tips folks, and kind words...its what keeps me coming back to this place, every day, sometimes all day! LOL...I dont know if I'd have kept the bike if Amy hadn't told me to...but she knows I'd be more miserable with no bike, than with a broke bike.

And yeah Shibumi-that IS her in my avatar...which is why I feel like such an a**hat for dropping her off the back, and even more stupid for not buying her the ICON jeans I was wearing n makin her wear them.
She means more to me than that silly bike...more than anything honestly...she's irreplaceable, that bike is all over e-bay every day. I put up the list of what is needed at the beginning of this post but guess it got missed-

looking for front brake master cylinder
front fairing stay (thats the metal frame-work that holds front plastics and headlight in place)
front footpegs (looking for TL 1000Rs or GSX-R 1000 K5s)
Upper air duct covers (inside front fairing next to clocks)
Rear wheel (or set if they're cheap enuf) back rim hit the curb n popped bead so wont hold air psi. tire's ok
ZG dbbl bbl screen-smoked or clear

already working out a deal with someone for full plastics set. I'll probly just post all this again in a week in a new WTB thread...thanks for all your support folks, it means the world to me.:;):

Yeah I'd Recommend getting her to a Dermotoligist/Cosmetic Surgeon ASAP. There are some ways to minimize scarring and I'd recommend not guessing.

Road rash is basically a burn so it can leave some long lasting scars..

Fug me, I wouldn't half step.

Dayum Scott!! Havent been on in awhile so I just saw this today. Glad you and Amy are still with us. Prayers for a speedy recovery for both of you

thanks Sam-how's BBK Jr? getn biggr n sh**n a lot more?
biggrin.gif
Is he getn mobile yet-time for the Baby-busa?
talked to dermatologist today-scars are healing really well, no deep tissue dmg anywhere (thank GOD!) and shouldnt need any kind of surgery/grafting...I'm feeling alot better.

Well, just got a line on brake master cylinder, so add the plastics to that n all Im really searching for are foot pegs, that front fairing stay n a ZG screen. So, if anyone has stuff they wana get rid of, holla back!

A friend of mine had 75% of her body burned when she was young. She uses Avon Re-Fine lotion for stretch marks. It smoothed out her scars and made them less noticable.

As for healing them well, I don't know. I'd go to a dermatologist. Or three.

Glad to hear she is healing, and that the bike is repairable.

Hey BigD, I'm glad to hear the healing process has started. You two will be just fine and judging on how you support each other you guys will have a bright future together.
Looking over your list I can supply a stock wind screen for the time being (if you are interested) and a rear seat. Can't have the lovely Amy on that old torn thing. PM me with your address so I can send you what I have.
Take care of you and yours bro...
