west coast socal ride plans to stampede

Just confirmed with my honey.......as of right now, count me in for this ride. Lamb, you baggin' it on this trip? I got brand new Nelson Rigg saddle/rear bags. Can't wait to try them out.

I will register with the website this week.

That would be great Doyle! Have you been to the Lassen Volcano?
Since Lamb has no background at all with the norcal roads any help would be appreciated. Saw your bike on Pashnit.com................WOW! That thing takes a sweet picture.

Haven't figured out what to do about the provision holding situation yet. Vinny, how many days are you good for. TH-FR-sat-sun-mon-(tues)? Just trying to figure out what kind of trip to make for the return is all. Having some input on your availabilty will help with this.

Lamb, actually the one pic with the silver Busa on my earlier posted pics(Kento Motos) next to mine shows Lassen in the background. Your idea of leaving Reno through Lassen area then across central Cal on 299 is great BUT look at a map and at I/S 5 if we go a little south, Hwy 36 might be the best road you ever been on! (hit the coast near Ft. Bragg after so many curves, you'll have blisters). Ck it out on Google Earth. I'm gettin excited just talking about it! Pics of the area below. Doyle

Lambo, your revised routes aren't loading Brother....The Spud will be somewhere in Bakersfield waiting.....unless you guys go around Bakersfield, then The Spud is going home..... :oldcool: or maybe not.... :super:

This "is" a "Busa" run right ????......

Will there be snow on the Volcano in JUly? Over 10,000 feet

Wow, I love that planning map! I've heard of misquito ridge but I'm still looking for it on the map. The person who would know that road would be Rob (ozz). Generally, if it's near 80, it would have more people around. I kinda forgot that you guys will still have to motor down to SoCal! That'll be either 99, 5 or 101 I guess (5 or 99 being way faster)...but maximize the mountains before the interstate.
Leaving Sunday sounds right to me (I just told my wife about the ride AFTER the Stampede...since I'm a teacher, I'm off till Aug 20th anyways). Let's keep analyzing this in an "ongoing" way. Doyle

End of July...probably like those two pics above (that was in July)of Lassen...it was 95 that day in the Central Valley but low 40's up there. Notice the lake was still frozen over too.

Lamb here are some lassen pics i took in august of 06, its a ride you wont forget a must see :beerchug:

as for mosquito rd. i would just skip it...it is a fun ride coming from Wentworth Springs road but near the Foresthill side the CHP are around, lots of people have discovered it and in the summer their are CHP hangin close to it. If your riding to lassen your gonna have a bunch of great roads on your way their....i know a way their off of hwy 80 that go's thru the woods all the way to Lassen on twistie roads

Looks great LAMB. Count me in tentatively (so far). I haven't decided if I'll meet you in San Juan Cappy or Bakersfield. But to be able to ride with Lamb and Vinny for a couple days prior to Stampede....Really starting to make my decision to go to the Stampede EVEN MORE appealing!! I'll find money somehow.
