west coast socal ride plans to stampede

Looks great LAMB. Count me in tentatively (so far). I haven't decided if I'll meet you in San Juan Cappy or Bakersfield. But to be able to ride with Lamb and Vinny for a couple days prior to Stampede....Really starting to make my decision to go to the Stampede EVEN MORE appealing!! I'll find money somehow.

We can do it on the less expensive (cheap). If we save money eating out, that will save a bundle. Living on powerbars and dole fruit cups for a few days should save a hundred bucks easy. Triple up on the rooms, another $100

Also, a revised day 2. This ride includes the lil dragon, which is hwy 49 south of coulterville, Hwy 4 throught the high mountain pass of the sierra nevada mountains, South Lake Tahoe, and finally carson city to the stampede headquarters. This day will prove to be epic. Some of the greatest roads central cali has to offer.

Ahhhhh yes, yes, Hwy 4 (Ebbetts Pass), one of my favorites! Pacemaster and I assault that one at least twice a season. Use caution though, it's literally a one lane goat trail! And be advised, in July you'll inevitably find yourself face to face with the typical vacationing travel trailer around any given curve taking up the entire road. Breath taking scenery up there, you’ll love it!
Cool………keep me posted, I could meet up with you dudes at the end of that fun ride when you pull into Markleville. There is an old 'mom and pop' type general store there and a credit card pay only gas station. If your plan is to then hit hwy 88 and then 89 up and over Luther Pass and down into South Lake Tahoe, I can show you a detour route that will bypass all that slow moving vacationing downtown traffic (saves 30 minutes of stop and go) that will put you at Stateline on the west side of the lake. From there you'll eventually hit hwy 50 and wind down into Carson City.

You interested in meeting either in Bakersfield on thurs. or Fresno in the morn. on Fri. for the ride to Reno. Spudley is making the trek from Vegas also and his plans are to meet in Bakersfield on thurs. Should be epic riding.
Just stay tuned to this thread or one like it. We need to make hotel reservations etc. We are still a ways out yet, however.
