This is Apex's requirements for your bike. Nothing out of the ordinary, all standard stuff.
BIKE PREP:
Except for a few special requirements listed below that differ from street preparation, preparing your bike for an APEX trackday is not unduly burdensome; the main requirement is that your bike is in good mechanical condition. APEX welcomes any brand of motorcycle in good working condition with at least 250cc displacement meeting the following requirements:
1. Good, working mechanical condition.
2. Glycol coolant flushed from system and replaced with distilled water (with or without a non-glycol based corrosion inhibitor, e.g., Redline Water Wetter)
3. Headlight disabled or taped over.
4. Mirrors removed or taped over.
5. Taillight disabled or taped over (so that the brake light cannot be seen when your brakes are applied).
6. Engine in good running condition and NO FLUID LEAKS.
7. Tires in new or near new condition.
8. Chain properly tightened and in good condition.
9. All controls (throttle, brake & clutch levers, shift linkage, etc.) properly adjusted.
10. All the nuts and bolts, especially those removed and replaced during routine maintenance (brake caliper bolts, oil drain plug, axel nuts, etc), are tight (i.e., fastened with proper torque).
11. Brake pads are in good condition with plenty of wear left.[/Quote]
For those who have never been to the track. I recommend using water wetter mixed with water, pulling the fuse to your headlight, and using painter's tape(leaves minimal residue if any). They didn't mention taping wheel weights, but I wouldn't be surprised if they want them taped. I use duct taped for the wheel weights.
