What are we becoming? We determine the outcome!

I am with you Captain.

I joined this forum in the beginning for the purpose of gaining information on how to repair my busa. I never thought I would be meeting some great well rounded people. The people here are the family I never knew. I love the fact that we can all discuss anything on the board and we can agree to disagree. I have at one time or two posted some things that may have offended some. I would like to apologize to all who were offended. That was a serious note.

In the words or Rodney King. "can't we all just get along"

I love you guys:bowdown:

2. Religion........ I hear one negative word about my one and only GOD then just expect your account to go.... If you don't like it and can't hold your words then go open your own athiest Busa forum... It seems there are a lot of you out there! I will not allow your smart alec comments to be a part of this site any longer.

While I'm an atheist, I have the utmost respect for you and several other religious adherents here on the board. Most of the time, I'm able to have open, thoughtful and enlightening conversations with all y'all about religious topics. I think that's always a good thing.

I've been party to some not too nice comments to and from some rather less than cordial people of several varying religious persuasions, though, and I'll refrain in the future. That includes some atheists and some believers, of course. Every barrel seems to have some bad apples, unfortunately.

Generally speaking, I agree wholeheartedly with your post, Doug. Keep up the great work.

About time Cappy.......I felt like I was about to freakin' go nuts if I saw another cop bashing comment. Them guys n gals put it on the line everyday and then come home to relax and have to defend themselves in their own home here on this site......it turned my stomach....

Thanks for raising the bar.

My apologies to anyone which I may have offended or rubbed the wrong way.

I know its tough to stay tight lipped when some clown is running their mouths for no other gain than to start bs. I now stop and think, this person means nothing to me so why waste the energy. Seems to work. Good post Capt...........

:beerchug:

 cap, this is still the best site on the web because of you and the admins:bowdown: in all honesty I did see the general tempo of the board change while I was gone from aug to jan, for some reason the "family" feel wasn't quite as strong reading through alot of the posts since then...I just chalked it up to the stresses of day to day life during that span. there's alot of great people here, the board will get back on an even keel no prob.
once again...thanx:beerchug:

I don't have a problem with those rules.
I must have missed whatever has gone on that has caused them to be stated formally.
I usually weave my way through threads and topics and avoid those things that are not productive to me.
I appreciate all the work that the administrators do to keep this forum alive and I can't begin to imagine the effort and trouble it takes to pull it off.
Thanks to all!

Thank you Captain. I stopped reading such threads because I couldn't stand the negativity.

There are some great people on the ORG and I'm happy to know them. They've been very encouraging to me during my job hunt. To them I say thank you, I'm glad to know you and call you my friend. :beerchug:

 Atlas!!! Joining up with this group was an honor for me. Though I don't post near as much as the others, I read, send a few pms, and learn way more by understanding others trial and errors. It had become habit forming until the elections, economy slowing, then this site was almost like a "hostile environment". I look forward to getting back to BIKES.:beerchug:

Cap, thanks!
When ever is see a thread, that i cant say anything nice about, i zip my lip and turn away!
Im not going to get into any bashing with other members, it not worth my time or frustration!
As for the political side of things, everone needs to keep an open mind, this country is not in a good state, and we have no means to see where it is going to go!

Hey Cap,

We might need to post a link to this thread all over the board or maybe PM everyone with the link. Some people probably never make it to this part of the forum.

Im pretty sure the link will make it into the right threads....

Good move, especially on the religion thing, those who stay, stay.

Everyone else can take a hike .................. Sound good to me.

AMEN, Captain.
We are all in this ship together sailing the high seas on the same ship. Its up to us as what direction we want to sail, we are a little off course.
Lets get this ship headed back in the right direction and back on course.

Its almost spring and we all have one thing in common, our busa's, so lets ride.:beerchug::thumbsup:

The 3 topics you mention are (typically) ones that I avoid since I've had varied experiences with each. Until recently I chose to stay in the "General Bike Related Topics" section since the posts there were specific to the information I was interested in. The "Random Thoughts" area was (to me) more of a "free for all" spot to joke/debate/etc.

The biggest problem with email, forums, and messaging is the lack of inflection. People can't hear the authors' tone so the chance of misinterpreting a reply is reasonably high. That said, there are also those that seemingly troll in order to gain some meaning in their life. After a while though these people tend to drift away once they quit getting the attention they are after.

On the matter of religion: It doesn't matter to me which way people believe. At the end of the day each person has to find their own comfort. I make a conscious effort to not offend anyone's belief (in something or nothing) since that is a personal choice. I know what I believe and enjoy intelligently discussing my thoughts with others in more appropriate venues. I just never thought of this forum as one of those places.

You see, I come here to pick people's brains about motorcycles.

Here's another thing; it's often been said that "the cream will rise to the top" and this is evident (still) with this group. Over the years members have been quick to assist one of their own whether it be moral support or monetary needs. Often based solely on the word of another member that they possibly have never even met.

For me the .org is a haven of sorts and should be welcome to all those that can abide by simple civility. I've never been a fan censorship and hope that it doesn't have to come to that.

(Apologies for my rambling)
