What are you doing this winter?

Well guys, its starting to get cold out and in a couple of weeks some of us will be putting away our babies for a couple of months. I know I plan to put mine away in early Nov.

So the question is, while the bike is down for a few months, what modifications or "winter projects" does everybody have planned?

I'll start.

My bike is all stock right now (just got it in July and still haven't paid anything off yet, so I can't afford to do anything expensive yet). I parked it over a girls house one night and the next morning I woke up to her saying "good morning" to my bike with her car. So, first things first, she's paying to repaint and resticker the right fairing (the only damage she did, thank God!)

The other thing I have to do it get a pair of Tobin seats, since it seems everybody is praising them so much. I'm kind of short, so the extra couple of inches this gives me will be welcomed (and they look good too). The day I put her away for the winter, I'm taking that seat off and contacting him.

Anybody else have any plans they would like to share?

I think I will add a Throttlemeister and a ICEMANN's LED's to my TG tail. If he has time to complete any of them.

Thinker62, what kind of high mount system you plan on getting? I hear HMF makes some sweet pipes.

So far I have gotten 16/42 sprockets, new chain, and speedohealer. I will reinstall my genmar risers and lowering links. Also, plan on a set of tobin seats. As of right now that is it, but always subject to change.

On the 22nd of Oct I am ordering a New Busa owner package from BDE. When the tax return comes in Apr/May new wheels and a 6" over Trac swingarm, some gearing changes, triple clamp, dog bones, exhaust cam, clutch mod, and a airshifter.

I just got done with my winter mods. I installed a BDE Gen3, PCIIIR (with Brocks track map),BDE pair block off plates, Brocks air box mod, and a clear tail light (thanks pipefighter).

Full exhaust, power commander, airbox mod. By the way, how much work is it really to do this myself? Or is it worth it to have my dealer do it for me.

By the time the winter rolls around all my mods will be done. Just waiting for daddy to get back and ride. I'll show you the new Baby J as soon as I can.

Well Busaologist,
I'm headed to CSC tomorrow ( 3 hours away), along with my partners, to get some Chrome Calibers and what every esle that might happen if I stay to long and maybe some new cables.

I plan on just riding all winter long, so no down time for me. mods as I go I guess
Thats ok if you live in Hawaii, but my bike hates to snort the white stuff! I wish I lived in a place where when it snowed little kids ran to their parents and said "Mommy, daddy, the sky is falling!".....No seriously I wish I did live there, know of any cheap housing around you???

Yeah, I started the post for us guys who have to put her away for a while during those snowy icy months (unless you decide to put chains on your tires), because if we can't ride her, might as well mod her so there is no down time during riding season.

Anyways I forgot to add, if you guys can, take before and after pics of your bike. Obviously you won't be able to post them until spring comes and you unveil her for another season, but it would be pretty cool to see before and after pics. I plan on doing it, even though all I'm getting is some swingarm sliders and new seats (and a little paint

).

Extra points go to before and after sound clips of your exhaust for those of you getting new cans. That would be awesome, and a huge help to those guys who want to know how much difference in sound the cans make.

you really do not want to move here. come visit but not live here. Gets really old after a few months. to many cars not enough roads, makes riding suck.

ill be riding. it gets just alittle nipply here in southern mississippi. people thought i was crazy riding to work one morning that it was in 30's last winter. and doing a few mods to.

I used to ride all winter in kansas. As long as there was no snow or ICE, i was riding. I worked in a freezer all night though that was -40 degrees. after 10 hrs of that, the 10 degree ride home seemed warm. That was about 8 yrs ago though
