What bothers you the most when riding in groups?

I HATE when people stunt from the back of the pack.  Because almost every year some assclown loses it and not only takes themself out they take out an unsuspecting rider from behind.

Hint:  If you want to stunt, do it in front of every one. So if you bust your ass.  We can all stop in time and make sure your straight!
Uh Yeah, Stop and Make sure your straight.... Once everyone quits laughing at his/her ass I might even call a wrecker. Assuming the hammerhead isn't hurt. I mean even if they were screwing around, injured isn't funny...Well OK seriously injured ain't funny... Broken ankles are funny....

The blind spot thing and learning how to ride in a proper stagger are good points. I do get tired of trying to F'ning explain the concept of your in the left, I am in the right, make sure you can see my eyes in my mirror. Oh and stay back far enough so I can swerve if neccessary in my lane.

Oh and yeah, single file in the twisties folks.

pretty much covered in the previous posts, but also would like to say that i had a guy on a 1K want to race one time. We hit it and he instantly got over in my lane , i didnt like that at all. Thats way to dangerous. But i dont mind just riding in the same lane.

The list goes on and on and on...........
this is what happens when u ride out like a retard

there are alot of things that bug me when riding in a big group so i ride with a friend or two and we know each others skills
we also know now one will rearend us while were enjoying the view

The worst is following folks in the twisties that have developed a rather passive riding style and do not use their brakes, just engine braking...  Makes it nearly impossible to predict what is coming up corner wise.  Next thing you know you are all the ass end of the guy in front, then you have to brake harder, later than you intended, sorta screws up your line, and timing.

OH OH and when following, all the road grime that gets fed to your bike...
Oh come Rev, everyone knows ther aint no twisties in Fla!

Riding in groups what really irratates you?
Riding with young " hot rods " that dont know *%$@!  I rode with some teens - early 20's once, one guy wheelies right past me, I was in the left hand side of the lane, parked cars inches to his right... another group I made the 1 time mistake of riding with, this guy along with several others get stuck at a long light... I pull over and wait up ahead when I see they get the green I slowly start to pull onto the highway again ( maybe 20 mph ) and this nut comes by me at 160mph! Pissed me off!

Anyway I have had mostly good fortune when riding in groups and new groups. The group from the Northwest was great, probly the best new group I ever rode with but when you ride with 15-20 or more someone allways has to stop for Gas, food or peepee...

I think 2 or 3 buddy's is perfect. But nuthin like seeing 20 other riders with you,
GO TEAM!

Seriously.... I have not often road with other people.... the few times I have it was a pain the arse... the bigger the group, the more people you have to wait on or adjust your schedule for. the more stops you have to make because you have more people that have more and less riding tolerance.

When I do ride with others, I fricken hate it when someone rides to close behind me.. I am a combative driver (for lack of a better word) or maybe defensive driver is better. I drive like this if I am on my bike, camaro, truck or mini van...

My son freaked one day because as I was driving with my three boys, radio going, in traffic and carrying on a conversation with my oldest, I was in the left lane and a car on the right of me all of a sudden out of no where abruptly pulls into my lane forces me into on coming traffic. However because my head is on a 360 degree swivel and I am always watching out for idiots like that, I noticed it immediately, sped up and got in front of him before we smashed into the oncoming car. My son freaked and I told himn that was a prime example of why you need to always be aware of everything around you, car positions to the sides, rear in front because you never know when someone is going to do something stupid.

My long drawn out explanation is this. I like to ride in a manner that allows me to compensate for road hazards (i.e. the children of people who due to genetic defect should not have ever re-produced). When someone is riding to close behind me, it limits my ability to react to given situations because 50% of my focus is making sure that if I due react I need to take into consideration what response the rider behind me might give and I need to mentally prepare for any additional hazard the rider behind me might cause in response to any quick action I might take.

Done get me wrong, I like riding with other riders on occasion, just as long as everyone rides smart and gives each other space.

Wanting to be a part of the pack but not being able to keep up. However it is ok to be slow because it hurts to much when you push yourself to hard. The worst thing I had happen to me was a guy all over me in each corner but not passing me in the straights. If you don't like the way the guy in front is riding go around when it is safe.

Other then that getting on the highway only to have half the pack leave you like your sitting still and then having the nerve to pass you later down the road after they made a stop for gas.

WHEN SOMEONE TRIES TO DO A STUNT FROM THE MIDDLE OR BACK OF THE PACK!! AND WORSE YET IF THEY LOSE IT!

WHEN SOMEONE TRIES TO DO A STUNT FROM THE MIDDLE OR BACK OF THE GROUP!! AND WORSE YET IF THEY LOSE IT!  ALSO SOMEONE WHO FEELS THEY HAVE TO DRINK /DRUG TO RIDE!!!!! I WILL NOT RIDE WITH THEM!

Drink and Drive!!! on a motorcycle!!!! sheeeesh I dont want to be arond anyone that is drinking and driving on four wheels, aint no fricken way I want to be within 2 miles of someone drinking and driving on 2 wheels..... that is just plane stupid.....

i usually fly solo but when i do ride with a group i like following hope to witness some good acting but im usually the only actor in the bunch and the only busa sometimes i like just showing everybody i ride with why they call the busa the fastest and they are almost always awed by the power the biggest groupe i ever rode with was about ten that was pretty cool like thrasher im always aware of my surroundings only i take responsibuility for any action thats occurs for i am the controller of my actions if im riding with a idiot it isnt usually for long i dont even want to be around any more accidents lost a few freinds though the years because of bikes and it sucks

I don't like it when the stunters in the front cause the whole pack to slow way down (so they can get up on one wheel) and then speed way up (so they can ride that wheelie out).

This has a whiplash effect. If someone at the front of the pack slows by 30MPH suddenly, then those at the middle tend to slow by 40MPH, and those at the end must slow by 50MPH. I figure this has something to do with reaction times and overcompensation.

Now, add to this the danger of sharing the road with cars and it gets really scary. Those cagers have no idea why the bikes they are following are suddenly travelling well under the speed limit. It can happen so quickly that they might not even notice until it is too late.

Better to find a nice road with little traffic and park the group. Then the stunters can play and those who don't can watch. Safer for everyone, including the cagers we share the roads with.

I don't like to ride with anyone who is trying to ride above his or her ability. My ride time is so precious to me, truly therapy, and I do not want to spend what little time I have in the emergency room. Don't get me wrong, most of my time is spent well in excess of the speed limit. However, rules must be followed and courtesy extended. One thing that will cause me to collect my toys and go home is anyone stunting too close to the rest of us. Again, I will be one of the first to loft the front end, but I try not to put anyone else in danger with my actions. Many times, our group will end up split fairly quickly as moods dictate the pecking order. Sometimes I feel like tearing it up, sometimes I don't. I'll bet you can guess my age from this reply....old, old as dirt....

Nothing bothers me in a group ride... because I never ride with groups.

I am too non-conformant and unpredictable, and want to be able to ride hard when I feel like it, or take it easy. Tried a couple of times - doesn't work for me. Also, keeping an eye on others is a huge distraction.

Frankly, I don't understand what is the point of riding in a group. If this is a group of close friends, that's another story. But, meeting up with strangers, and ride for hours - why? You still ride by yourself, but squashed within a group. You can't chat or socialize while riding, you waste time waiting for others. And the dirty little secret about peer pressure which turns normal people into would be racers. Guilty of that, too.

The only time I actually ride in a group is at the track. Even then my only concern is that someone might take me out (had some close calls, too, and seen others been taken out).

I really enjoy the freedom of doing what I want, and when I want during the ride. I like riding in it's pure form when all your thought process is on riding, and being one with the machine.

Besides, not only I don't want to crash, I don't even want to have close calls.

Treating entire route like it's free and clear. Not taking into account some sections warrant extra caution.
One examble straight sections between twisites. The 1/4 mile and longer sections. The ones with drive ways and small access roads on both sides of the road. The only thought it's straight so lets go 100mph. Little un-nerving something or someone will pop out from one of those drives.
