What did you do to your Gen 3 today?

This seat felt stiffer than factory so I added 2cm thick gel to it. You can barely make out the edges under the right lighting but it's not bad enough to bother me. Everything about this was a PITA. From taking staples out to performing surgery on the foam and the gel had slightly tapered edges. The x-acto knife gripped the gel and of course the gel was contorting while cutting it. Then my heavy duty hand stapler from Lowes didn't like the plastic so I ordered a pneumatic upholstery stapler and It worked wonderfully. I hope it was all worth it. Also added a bit of weight as well

It looks really good.
If you don't like how it feels now(as you said, you hope it was worth it) cut a 2" or wider groove up the center like a Saddleman seat, it makes a Big difference.

Please give an update when you try it out. I have the same seat and I agree it’s a little firmer but I’ve gotten used to it. I may add the gel pad if you like yours.

Where’s you get the gel pad material. Been thinking of doing something different in mine but I’m still looking for another stock seat to alter.

I really like that idea but the seats that have that groove have a cover that follows the contour of the groove. And I feel just cutting the groove and not messing with the cover wouldn't look very good.

Ebay. There is a bunch of choices usually 1 or 2 cm thick. I had a hard time finding a factory seat to mod for my gen1. Ended up paying like 90 bucks for a used seat with missing hardware. Thats why I immediately bought this other seat when I saw it only cost 125..... well 135 now.

I’m going to look for a stock seat and try your method. They are hard to find tho… Brock’s may be in order I’m afraid.

I believe @pashnit uses or has used them and he rides the wheels off his bike so that is a good testament to how they are.

I have an all steel Supersprox and it is awesome...even though it's steel, it is lighter than the stock one.

Always been a big fan of SuperSprox. Been running them on the last couple bikes. Get an easy 30 or 40k on out the rear SuperSprox. Word on the street is Gen2 is same as Gen3 for rear sprockets, so planning on getting one as soon as they come in stock. Always hunting for better mileage so I've always gone smaller in the rear. 43T is stock, I'd like to go as low as 40T, but that's currently out of stock so I'm just waiting right now.

Finally finished. Still have a couple things to do before her spring release. Let me know you thoughts!

1. Vortex Sprocket
2. EK 3D Chrome Chain
3. Pro Bolt Black Axel Nuts
4. Zero Gravity Windscreen
5. VooDoo Mini Mag Exhaust
6. Matte Black & Silver Theme

On a very serious note this might be my favorite color scheme yet. I love the carbon look on the side panels, very nice touch. Lovely!!!

Bought a set of the ceramic bearings, and new sprockets too. Waiting for a tire change to put them on. I prefer steel sprockets put on the same time as a new chain for durability. I'm a little worried as I haven't heard much on the Forum about doing a hybrid rear. And there was some initial confusion about whether the supersprox would go on the 22. Has anyone else used this rear hybrid sprocket? I think the American web page said it wouldn't fit but the British one said it would...
* I actually and deliberately bumped up to 44 teeth. Hoping to get a little goose out of the corners...

gen 2 and 3 use the same rear sprockets. i have both oem rear sprockets from my gen2 and 3 and they are identical.

Thanks, PCS, good to know. And Plague, that's the most elegant gen 3 I've ever seen. I would never have guessed it could look that good! Well done!
