You are not kidding about steel wheel weight! I wanted to run a full size spare on my beat up Isuzu trooper and ordered a 17” steel wheel and was shocked at how heavy that thing is compared to the aluminum set I have on the vehicle. I was concerned the steel wheel with a 33in tire mounted would cause premature wear on the back door hinges.Saturday I changed the tires over on both vehicles and put our summer tires on.
My truck has the usual aluminum Ram sport rims in 20 inch........however, the difference between those and the 20 inch winter steel rims and tires is night and day...the truck is very light on it's feet and handles completely differently now......I may look at switching to a lighter winter rim....
I can see why people who go to light rims on motorcycles notice such a difference.....
My steel winter rims came as a package when I bought the truck....You are not kidding about steel wheel weight! Nice!New scooter added to the forever growing collection, the one early GSXR I don’t have until now.
Picked up for an absolute steal purely because it’s located hours from a major city but only down the road for me, what a bargain.

It looks new....what a beauty.....
It looks great from those pictures.....a real survivor.......Couple of things need to be tidied up but other than that, nothing major needed to be done.
She’s definitely a keeper like it’s siblings, won’t be modified but will be toured on.It looks great from those pictures.....a real survivor.......
Those are getting more and more rare...
I think you mentioned how much of a "steal" it was......and you are correct......at that price it was.....She’s definitely a keeper like it’s siblings, won’t be modified but will be toured on.

That to me was the best era for motorcycles.
Of course but I may change them out to the JB Carby’s I have here to free it up abit.I know it’s seven years newer but does it also have…carburetors?I may take my antique on tour in June. Haven’t taken this one to Montana yet.

I liked my RD400 as well......it was on the edge of "angry" and just rude and crude enough to keep riding interesting....For me it was 20 years earlier starting with Honda’s CB750-4. It pretty much held the king of the four stroke road until the Kawasaki Z1 took over in 72/73. The CBX didn’t come out until 79 and in a year or two Suzuki knocked it off the throne.
