What is the farthest you have ridden in a day

I think 625mi is the longest distance for me in one day. I was a little sore the next day, but not too bad. Just wish I had my throttlemeister back then!

btw
it's tomorrow.
Not in KC!

I did aprox 3,600 miles in 4 days once. I left here on a Friday - Minneapolis to Las Vegas (went the long route there, and a little shorter route home). I will never push myself that hard ever again...complete insanity. It is not cool to Hullicinate while on the Hwy due to lack of sleep, food, and stress of doing that many miles.

I rode out to my buddies about a Month ago - aprox 500 miles in a day...now thats a lot more reasonable...but still a good amount of miles.

The bottom line is the Busa is a very competent traveling machine. If you have never done any real roadtrips on it...I'd take it easy the first time.

I've done several 400+ mile days on mine. No problem. A group of us are doing a ride this summer. We'll run about 380 per day. Nice brisk pace, with time to stop once in awhile and relax.

Enjoy the ride. Traveling on your bike (IMO) is a kick.

Thanks for the response.  I was thinking about riding from Orlando to Gatlinsberg Tenn.  About 600 miles.  I think I could do it, I have done 100+ mile days before.  Broke my Busa in in three days.  So I can handle the distance I think.  My friend backed out and wants to ride up in the car with the girls (wives)  so I have to decide if I ride with them or go up and ride by myself.  Hard decision.  I'd hate to be in the smokeys and not be on my bike.  My wife would take a ride with me through the mountains when we get up there so I don't know if it would be worth it or not.
If it were me, I'd ride up in the cage with the friend and wifes with the bikes on a trailer. 1,200 miles of slab isn't worth wearing the back tire out for. And, you'll have your bike with you to ride the mountain roads. Sometimes it's about the destination, not the ride.

Too bad you're leaving tomorrow. Unless you have a trailor handy, this probably isn't an option.

Did 995 miles in little over 16 hours back from the busa bash. Probably a little over 3k miles total for weekend. Besides a rib hurting from a previous wreck not much pain. On way down there really didn't get much more sore past the 300 mile mark. Just take it easy when ya stop for gas stretch and drink some fluids.

If you want to make a lot of miles in a day, you must stay on your bike and keep the wheels turning, short breaks and get going again. The Busa is probably the best bike for making long distances in a short time.

I did: Vacaville CA to Seattle Wa in 10 hours, half hour lunch break included in the ten hours.

So Cal to Boise Idaho in 18 hours, (after an 8 hour shift) that was a grueling ride. I doubt I'll do that again.

600 is more reasonable and easily doable, gotta keep the wheels turning though.

Use a Valantine one. Either go close to the speed limit, or faster than the local popo can go. 150-160 will keep em off of you unless they get an airplane in the air, most choppers don't go that fast, and if you do see one in the air, go faster. Choppers generally don't have real high top speeds, the fastest (record) chopper is around 212mph and cops don't get those ones. Living in So. Cal. choppers are the only thing that have a chance. Cruisers won't even try unless you are going slow enough for them to catch you. Cruiser top speed, unmarked 120mph, small light bar 112, full light bar 108, the CHP Camaro's are a different story, you get one of them on your a$$ you better be ready to get serious or pull over

On the trip to Seattle, my speedo read 160+ most of the trip. I had guys telling me of tickets they got the same day on the same trip. 120 seemed slow when going thru citys. It's my guess they just didn't want to go after me because they either knew they couldn't catch me or it would be too much work to catch up "if they could".

YMMV

Ride safe.

500 miles the day I got the bike - all interstate (Tallahassee to Naples FL on I-75) felt great the whole way and that was before I did the idle speed/cruise control mod. Used that for the trip to Bike Week in Daytona and it's great - 80MPH with the right hand free.

Now all I need to find is a road in south Florida with a curve in it . . .

Longest so far was 630 miles in a day; traveling to the Busa Bash! It wasn't bad; could have done a bit more...a must have is either cruise control or a Throttlemeister to give the right hand a break...

I rode just a little over 1000 the first day I picked up my bike. It was already broken in guys so no worries there. Picked it up in North Carolina and rode all the way back to Fort Worth. Had a backpack on the whole way too. I was sore but I just love to ride. Heading to Grand Canyon from Fort Worth on the 9th and coming back on the 12th. Anyone want to come along? PM me if interested.

Not saying it didn't happen but... This is a tall order man.

I think a sustained 160+ ride is a little nuts! But, when I went to the AMA Championships at Brazelton (Road Atlanta) last September, I did notice that at 95ish, I was keeping up with traffic for the most part.
