What the hell Egypt?.....

Now a huge power vacuum will occur in which the military will instill curfew and round others up. It will be worse before it gets better.

We'll see. I predict another Iran.

I feel very sorry for the average Egyptian. - None of this is going to improve their lot.

Look no matter what, no matter what I repeat your American tourist dollars will always be welcome in Egypt. Nothing is going to change for the average Egyptian, nothing .

Let us not forget the USA advocated, helped direct/organize and partially funded free elections in Lebanon. Hamas won with a resounding majority and then all of the sudden the election was not recognized and deemed void by the Intl world.
We advocate free elections in Palestinian occupied territories and guess what Hezbollah wins with a resounding majority and again the world refused to accept the results.

So even if there is a revolution, even if there are free elections it doesn't mean things will be any better or that the world will accept the results.

Like they are in Iran?

Egypt certainly relies heavily on tourism for income but if the pro-Caliphate lunatics take over, I doubt they'll care.
Iran may offer "financial assistance"...in return for the new Egyptian Government doing whatever they're told.

There was a good reason for that! - Hamas won by intimidating voters.

Australia has quite a large Lebanese population, many of whom agree that the entire election there was a farce.

Egypt can never be like Iran, the muslim brotherhood are from a totally different school of thought. The new generation in Egypt are the majority and they are demanding change for the better, yet the MB are not very popular. I'm pretty sure Egypt will be ruled by another secular, who will disappoint them more than Mubarak.

I think that Egypt may be a little different than other countries....

* the populace want change, and the change they want is not to a more religious, consevative gov.

* the military is an industrial power as well as an armed force. I read it was responsible for 12% of the country's GDP. Unlike in other countries, the military will not stand for a radical muslim government.

Uh-huh. They both have the stated goals of the worldwide domination of Islam, and the total destruction of Israel.

Both are using the world Islam for other interests, I'm pretty sure their hidden agenda states different goals just like any other political lobby.

I watched that, just after I watched last nights prog on Wikileaks.
Seem's a lot of folk dont share the US standpoint.

Right or wrong, I find it interesting.
