I didn't pose the question to start some sort of fight here. There is a couple of fundamental differences between our cultures. I just couldn't understand why the need to bear arms against your brothers is so accepted but I take your points on board. I would like you to lay off the language though, I have been serving for almost twenty years in places like Somalia, Rwanda, Timor and a stint in Afghanistan where I led part of an SASR patrol that pulled a number of your guys out of a very serious situation. So your virgin arse comment is not appropriate or required. Sorry for the thread jack, I'm sorry and disappointed that I even asked.

First of all... I was just making my point in order to answer your question~ Obviously it worked... there was never an intent for a fight to be started from it~ It's very unfortunate that some of our brothers are so messed up and a danger to our society that we feel the need to bare arms against them in the first place~ Yet, in this day and age, the need is definitly there~ I didn't think my language was inappropriate, given the picture of the situation I was trying to create in my post~ I do, however, apologize if my assumtion offended you~
Secondly... 'Thanks' for the sacrifices you gave to watch my back, the back of my Country, and fellow Countrymen~  My only child is serving his second tour of duty in Iraq right now~ I pray every day he doesn't become a sacrifice for me~ Having been through all that you have.. I would think you could understand even more why some public citizens, such as myself, prefer to be armed~
Lastly... Don't be sorry for posting your question~ You even stated in your first post that you expected to be 'flamed' in the answers.. so long as we "chuck your reasons in there too".. So don't go get all bent outta shape and be disappointed when I really didn't even put the flame on~
Just for the record... I still love my fellow brothers, I just can't trust 'em as far as I can throw 'em is all~

OKkkkkkkk...

KennyMac - I , also have taken the Gun safety course, and have a carry permit, and have my own pistol. It's the same reason Busa Samarai said.. better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. People are strange here in America. Some will take your body, and hurt it, and then kill you... others will give half of everything they own to help someone. We would hope that there are more of the latter, and less of the first, but it's hard to judge which way a person is going to go.

I've also taken self defense classes. Too much raping, stabbing, kidnapping in my area to NOT be ready to defend myself.

OK... back on track...
How cold does it get in North Carolina? Do i need tshirts or long sleeved shirts? And remember I'm from Florida...my blood has been thinned by 14 years of Florida sun.
