What's really going on.

I think a lot of people have thought about what he described. I wish he could serve a third term. I have full confidence in him.

Hi. Harris said we are dumping trillions on the streets through the inflation reduction act. Does that not cause inflation. How does that work? Printing money that causies inflation am I correct?

I hadn’t heard this but trillions seems a bit much. To answer your question, think this way:

‘More jobs and higher wages increase household incomes which leads to a rise in consumer spending which causes an increased demand for goods and services which typically causes businesses to increase their prices which of course, causes the buying public to spend even more….or do without.’

‘When this happens across a large number of businesses and sectors, this leads to an increase in inflation. Printing money can help inflation but printing too much money adds to inflation and a reduction of our dollar’s value.’

Is it still above fitty cents?

Hi. I was not there when she said so I can not be sure if it waa correct. It waa a clip on the internet.

Sites such as zerks attached in his post are gaining in popularity amongst right wingers, even center right aligned people.

What they are good at is spreading hate and aligning people with a certain ideology......the evil of the past would have absolutely loved having the access to people as there is now.....they could spread their ideology right into the homes of their followers.

It is spreading like wildfire even here in Canada.....the other day I was at my neighbor's house for a birthday party for their child and their 10 yr old nephew definitely had an opinion on our Prime Minister calling him an idiot.....he wasn't wrong but he was only 10.....I know when my kids were 10 they knew nothing about politics. When the neighbor queried him on why he was an idiot, the kid had no clue only that he was an idiot.

We see more and more young (15 and under) at right wing rallies, brainwashing our youth setting up the next generation of angry people.

Everyone who is powerless is playing the blame game. They see their future going down the toilet and are angry because all the promises of a great future they saw on TV are failing or out of reach. "Come to our Uni and get a degree, you'll be set for life." Buy this car, you'll will be the envy of your neighbors. Buy a home on our estate and live the life you've always wanted without a care in the world.

Yeah well I suppose they had those ads when I was growing up but back then it was a reality! The promises came true. We paid off our homes, who pays off their homes now? They just borrow more against them to fund a lifestyle they can't afford, and the younger one see it and understand. That's why so many stay at home and never move out I think. They move out and they have to face reality! Better just to play computer games all their life and blot it out.

I shouldn't care, I have no reason to care? But I'm a researcher and a social critic and I am very critical of our current society. I see a lot of talk, but where's the Beef so to speak. I have a huge book here, "chronicle of the 20th century" My monitor sits atop it in fact. It's a record of the century taken from news headlines basically and every decade is prefaced by a one page illustration reflecting the general mood of the decade ahead. Nearly all are upbeat, but the one for the 1930's is a gloomy overcast scene with people huddled as though in a storm. That image is quite apt of course. If they remake that book at the end of this century I could well imagine what the illustration will show for the next decade.

So Whose to blame? Well in 1930 the media blamed Hoover, but he didn't create the debt bubble, he had nothing to do with the insane Wall St bubble, he had just arrived on the scene! The TV and mass media point to the politicians, but whenever that media points to something, I look over my shoulder to see what's really going on. Politicians can't be held responsible by design. They are gone in 4 or 8 years, off to parts unknown, there is no responsibility then, just blame for the ones currently in the hot seat. Elon Musk reportedly sold all his RE to live in a tiny home. Really? Or did he just sell all his US property? He sold 7 luxury mansions in California. Now that is logical actually. Why? He said "Freedom" Everyone knows real assets like land are the key to financial security, as long as you Own them. I think he knows something, I think Mr. Data with his $100 million Hawaiian redoubt knows it too.

My reading of history by credible authors such as G Edward Griffin, The Creature from Jekell Island... Jim Marrs Rule by Secrecy,... John Perkins, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man... Whitney Webb One Nation Under Blackmail... Victor Thorn New World Order Exposed... Peter Schweitzer's Clinton Cash and other books and other authors it gives me a Birds Eye view of history and the people that made headlines and some that worked behind the scenes like LBJ's hitman. When you view documentaries like Obama's America by Dinesh Disuzua where Dinesh tracked Obama's entire life and who his biggest influences were... To 9-11 Trillions Follow the Money by Jim Corbett you start to realize just how corrupt the world is and where it's headed if we don't find a way to slow it down real soon.

What have you read that gives you insight into the world we live in? Yeah... I must be a real horrible guy for calling it as I see it based on what I have learned about it.

Yes, I get it... your life has taken you down a road where you saw, experienced and could only imagine the people behind the horible waste of human lives that laid before you at times. A guy like you could easily suffer from PTSD and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. We now have people that attended the Trump event recently that can't shake the images they saw that ONE day. So, we each travel our own paths that create the filter we see the world through.

It's not right wing stuff when it's the truth. You see where all the hatred for Trump took us. Where did it come from? The White House and mostly the MSM... it's no secret they specialize in slander at every opportunity.

Had Trump been killed ( it was the 5th attempt in recent times ) the country would have rebelled in ways that we never want to see.

About Trump.... He is a Hollywood type that has hit high gear... the terror and drama of the last few days plays right into the NWO plans for humanity. I don't like saying this... it's over for America... we are not likely to survive what is coming now. The big reset is here and it will shock the world when it goes live. Just watch what happens when crypto currency laws are in place that regulate that high tech market.

Shares are an example of things that effect us directly, if we have bought them. Today they are held not in your safe or even typically in your brokers office, they are digital entries in a clearing house and the laws concerning them make the actual buyers the last on the list as far as ownership is concerned. As a buyer you are considered an unsecured creditor, just like the money you have on deposit in the bank is considered the Bank's money, not yours. This becomes obvious in a bank collapse.

Where are stock shares held?
...when an investor buys shares through their broker-dealer, the broker-dealer will almost always put those shares in street name by default. This means that the shares are held at the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (“DTCC”).
Possession is ownership and is 9/10 of the law. Ownership is a legal matter, it has nothing to do with the fact you paid for something. A toaster you bought and hold the receipt for is one matter, Shares traded internationally is quite another. There are ways to buy and hold ownership of shares but 99% of people don't know this and will simply "Trust" someone to do all the work for them.

What It Means to Own Shares of Stock in a Street Name?
Technically, your brokerage firm owns the shares. In other words "legally" they own them, not you.

The world has always been corrupt.....Egyptian Pharaohs lived like kings in the lap of luxury and used slave labor to get everything done, that empire collapsed, the Romans, the Aztecs, Mayans and many other advanced (for the time) civilizations collapsed.....

It makes sense that modern civilizations are doomed to collapse as well....we saw the collapse of the British Empire recently as well as the Spanish Empire......the Soviet Union collapsed and we all wonder who's next?

In many facets, the US has collapsed, it has lost it's industrial might and it's national patriotism is dwindling. I remember my time in the US I was astounded by how the American people approached their love for their country...the last time I was there, people actually left their hats on when the national anthem was being played....that used to be unheard of years ago.....

Kind of like Canada where our national patriotism is at an all time low......people don't even pause when our national anthem is being played and they certainly don't remove their hats....we've even changed words in our national anthem to suit the woke crowd and not long ago a nobody singer changed words on her own as she didn't agree with one of them.........I wonder in what world do people take it upon themselves to change words to a national anthem of a country and then sing it in public....

If they tried that in any other country, they'd be strung up but here they were just expressing themselves.....

If anything, Canada is on the downward spiral to collapse before the US is.....

BS. You live to say things like that. The real life of the party huh? You'll say you're a realist. Yeah, and I'm a Ukrainian ballerina.

That and in restaurants, at the table. Old timers like you and I let these things bother us because it's a lack of respect and manners. The consequence of it is the real scary part though.

I could start a new thread and have 10,000 posts on the lack of respect, dignity and manners today.........and the blatant lack of parental guidance and discipline.

Bullshit Jobs
A hard day's work is its own reward. Unless it's BS

The phrase “bullshit jobs” comes from Anthropologist David Graeber’s 2018 book, Bullshit Jobs. Graeber defines a bullshit job as: A form of paid employment that is so completely pointless, unnecessary, or pernicious that even the employee cannot justify its existence even though, as part of the conditions of employment, the employee feels obliged to pretend that this is not the case.

Gerber argues that many jobs provide no value to society at all. bullshit jobs exist in our culture as part of the societal illusion that there is just so much to do. We have created many jobs that add a layer of superfluous bureaucracy to many aspects of our lives. Gerber argued that bullshit jobs are not only inefficient but harmful because our culture attaches self-worth to our jobs and productivity. When we know we are in a bullshit job, it does real emotional damage. In many Western societies, our self-worth is partially tied up in what we do. If we know that what we do is unnecessary and in some cases harmful, that is damaging to our sense of self.

Gerber estimates that over 20% of jobs are bullshit jobs, while an academic study on the topic (yes, there was one) estimated that the number is closer to 5%. The unemployment rate that we periodically hear about and is reported every month is a human construction. Any good economist will tell you what the ideal level of unemployment is in an economy. Many central banks in the world have an “ideal” unemployment rate. Think about that. The way most of our economies operate now, the central bank sees it as “ideal” that a certain small proportion of their population is afraid that they can’t feed their families.

No... its more like you read what I write because that gives you the opportunity to complain about it.

Besides that ... do you have any pictures of you in a ballerina outfit?

I have engaging conversations with strangers on a fairly regular basis. The other day the guy in front of me at the grocery story is holding a half gallon of Almond silk and a box of cereal. I commented that it appears Almond silk it is gaining in market share as compared to regular pasteurized milk from cows. He replied that lactose intolerance was an issue for him and that he didn't drink milk anymore. And so it went... and we segwayed to other topics in the short time we spent in line.

Would you like so see how many business cards I have collected over the years that started with a casual conversation like the one above?

I am often times looking to increase the possibilities I have in life by the number of people I know that could become a valueble resource at some point in time. Will I be serving them, or will they be serving me? I equally embrace either or both at the same time.
Life is what you make it.... complaining about other people's opinions with no real basis to make a valid point is like taking a shower with no soap.

Yesterday a guy on the Corvette forum ( I just had my 25th year member anniversary ) asked me about changing the alternator on his 91 ZR-1 Corvette. The alternator is partially covered by the intake plenum. This is what I messaged him.

I have owned a number of ZR-1s over the years. Pulling the plenum isn't real tough. To make it easier make sure you have the right length of Torx bit to get between the runners so you don't mar the intake runners. Also keep a short piece of 2 x 3 or 2 x 4 handy... perhaps 6 inches long... .Maybe longer... its going to serve as a prop. What I would do is unbolt everything and as nessasary un hook whatever that needs to be un hooked ( like the black vacuum pump plastic line ) so you can raise the throttle body and plenum in one piece from the front and leave the rear where it is. Once you are able to lift it and prop it up then you can get to the alternator to remove it without having to go to deep. If you want to explore under the plenum and see that all is well then lay a nice big furniture pad or layers of blanket on your windshield so that when everything but the throttle cable and cruise control cable are still hooked up ( so you don't have to mess with them ) you can then lay the plenum back on the protected windshield upside down Yeah, I know... that might sound a little backyardish.... it just makes things less work. I like to put the car on jack stands ( just the front so you can take a wheels off. Now you can get a little closer to your work inside the plenum if you have anything there you want to do. Also see in mind that if you remove the computer that attaches to the bottom of the plenum then make sure you put a fresh coat of dialectic grease on the computer before reinstalling it ( This will test your patience in so far as getting everything placed correctly and plugged back in...) it is the most difficult part unless you are good at this kind of stuff ) . It acts as an insulator ( I think if memory serves me right ) and helps keep the computer cooler. Just take your time and if some challenge appears you can always go over to the ZR1NET registry site... lots of members go to and from this site to the other all the time... plenty of good info there.
All the best
Ted

Thanks Ted!! That is some great info there....... I have been told there was a way to deal with it, instead of taking the WHOLE plenum off. Now I know!!! I think this will be the best way for me to do it. But since I've never had it off, why not dive and see what else is wrong under there lol..........I went ahead and bought an alt rebuild kit from Jerrys Gaskets, alone with serpentine belt......Hell as far as I know this stuff is all original. Never have had one issue with the Z, except some parasitic battery drain some where.

Anywho, thanks again for the advice and pointing me in the right direction.

Very helpful post. Ok so you’re not ALWAYS the bringer of doom. Good job. Btw I don’t read your stuff so I can complain about it, but because it’s usually interesting. Of course I don’t usually agree, but that would be boring. In my defense, on this forum lately, you just keep doing the Chicken Little sky is falling thing.
Obviously things aren’t great in our country, our president should be in a convalescence home and he’s running for reelection against Attila the Hun.
Still, stop and count your blessings.

I am exposing myself to many sources of information on a daily basis in an attempt to keep up with the firehose level we are bombarded with daily. The key in my mind is make sense of it based on the many perspectives that are available to sample. Certain things are happening that in ways certain ways synchronize with chains of events in the past. I am sure you are familiar with the old quote about history is repeating itself.

What tops my priority list is to increase my awareness... that means to constantly let go of certain beliefs, myths and so on that doesn't serve me any longer. However, human nature being what it is with its preferences and dislikes has created a guiding energy that keeps human actions that take place a bit predictable at times.

Latest myth busted you might ask in my opinion? The possibility that Peter Thiel is the creator of Bitcoin... not Satoshi Nakamato. Satoshi isn't even a real person connected to the invention of Bitcoin. A man with that name was found by reporters... they kept following him around and dogging him with questions.... he denied it all and his profession isn't in high tech, which makes sense when it comes to his denial. He told the reporters to bug off... it isn't me... right name, wrong guy.

I get it. You're a better man than I in that you care so much. Just try not to let it make you miserable.

I do pretty much the same but only on issues that matter to me personally. Like I ignore the crypto scene because I'm not in it, though I do have an opinion on it of course. I have seen a lot of people lose a lot of money in the past 20 years, money I could have lost too if I hadn't spent the time researching things like how the stock markets operate, how housing bubbles are created, balloon out and collapse.

Back in 2006 abouts I read a British story where the then retired Governor of the BOE stated plainly that they, the central bank there, created the housing bubble to save the economy from the fallout of the Dot-com collapse. A very candid admission I thought! Re-liquefying the economy in other words, creating massive debts and pushing up home prices just so there would be money flowing around. It's something that the average person doesn't think about, that when vast volumes of debt are created in this way there are natural spillover effects. Government incomes go up because real estate transactions are heavily taxed. Also someone sells a home at a higher price and they often take some of that money and buy a new car or other expensive ticket items, the money flows through the economy providing wages and food etc for people who had nothing to do with the original housing sale.

Understanding that allowed me to avoid the painful mistake of getting sucked into investment properties. Many others got caught, and lost all when the interest rates rose at the end of the decade. Many such "awakenings" have steered me to my current place in life, where I live, where I have my savings, what I spend it on. Much of it is just common sense but common sense has been suspended for the most part in our modern society. What's important now is that the car is better than the neighbors, that you take that signature holiday and come back and brag about it. In the mid 00's it was India and my then neighbors went over for 2 weeks and came back with gushing tales of the temples and all that. When I pressed them the truth came out, the whole place stinks like $hit, beggars constantly harassed them and toilet paper was unheard of in many places. I'd spent a similar amount on a new bike and was glad I had.

The big trend here is adding to your home and has been for nearly two decades. Decks, Big sheds, boutique fences and driveways. Anything you can squeeze in and all put on the mortgage or even withdrawn from the pension account. Hundreds of thousands of dollars "added value" as they call it, but the fences look like crap in 10 years, the sheds barely get used, the decks collect junk and rusty BBQs. It's mostly wasted capital that could have been saved for the future or spent more wisely. It never ends around here! Call it out though and you're branded as an idiot, "everyone is doing it, it must be right." But what can you expect when most people watch the TV all night and are bombarded with the stuff.

Homes are a money pit... high taxes depending on where you live... Homeowners insurance is getting ridiculous. never buy more house than you need unless you can write off extra space off with a business / tax benefit.

The financial system is breaking down and some people seem to be waking up to the scam that a debt based currency is made of. I suggest you segment out the Micheal Saylor presentation ( Owns Micro Strategies ) at the Bitcoin conference where he goes in depth what Bitcoin is and what it represents to the world. This is really all you need to know about crypto unless you buy into it, then you will really need to pay attention! lol !

The world is going through a paradigm shift... it's going to get real interesting for the next several years.

How come Trumps right ear doesn't have a divot in it? Was the plastic surgery that fast and that good? Or, was something else going on?

I don't know about a money pit, we could sell our home tomorrow for more than twice what we bought it for and it would sell very quick as I live in a sought after neighborhood and other homes most times don't even get a for sale sign up before they are sold....

As for the size of a home.....some people I know are talking downsizing but then I ask them what about their kids and grandkids when they visit? Our home gets pretty small pretty quickly when the brood comes over....

And then what, go live in a pup tent? Everyone needs a home just like they need food, the price rises are irrelevant unless you are moving to another region where the homes are a lot cheaper. Higher home prices are only really good for the beneficiaries of your will. It's the government, the banks, insurance companies and real estate brokers who benefit from high home prices.
