Wheelie bars

Finally found an issue, rode it to work and the fan doesn’t come on. Wasn’t a problem/didn’t realize it until I was sitting at the last left turn before I got there, temp gauge started going up and I looked over, sure enough the fan wasn’t spinning.

Used a paper clip in the fan plug to keep it on for ride home, temp was still alil erratic during slow speeds but perfect on the freeway. Ordered new switch. May add a toggle as well

Turns out the hose to the overflow has a hole and when it was hot it ran the radiator low on coolant. Overflow tank is overly full. Also the exhaust headers melted the Chinese plastics on the bottom, need to trim it. And the rotors are definitely warped. Other than that, 85mph cruise speed with the throttle barely cracked is nice, and I’ll say it again, The exhaust sounds beastly!

Cut the fairings where the exhaust was melting them, picked up a grab bar and a cut down seat that I don’t like so it’s for sale now. finally added the power commander and now it runs like crap. Huge hesitation right when u crack the throttle. Tried the Brock’s maps, one made it worse, the map it came with, got alil better, disconnected it, ran perfect again. Might be a lil lean tho

Cams are stock, not adjustable. Highly doubt is anything other than a stock motor with pipe and air filter and small airbox mod so for those maps not to work it must be tuned in the ecu flash or the pcv is messed up. No quickshifter for me I guess. Soon as my fan switch shows up I’ll button it up and post pictures, it’s done. If it’s not sold by dec1, it’s getting

dyno’d
Swingarm
Brake rotors
Airshifter
Launchmaster
Killbox/autoshift
60shot of n20
Tether kill switch
Paint job
=killer streetbike and I guess I’ll be stuck with it.

2007 gsx1300rz Done. The good-
Good tires
Clean title
Has braided brake and clutch lines
Helibars
New fork seals and oil
All new fluids-oil/coolant/brake/clutch
Brock’s alien head full exhaust
Integrated led taillight
Led headlights
ASV levers
Lowering upper triple
Carbon fiber front fender
K&n air filter
Removed pair valve
Small airbox mod

The bad: 74k miles, (25k on engine if it matters.) Chinese fairings, carbon fiber fender could use a coat of clear or some wet sanding and polish, muffler has some rash on the end and the bottom head pipes are dented alil.

Y’all think someone would pay $5k?

I got ready to install some fancy new rotors, and when I spun the wheel to see which rotor was warped, I saw the wheel had a slight wobble to it as well. So I swapped the bad rotor with another straight oem one and started looking at wheel swaps. Gen2 or gsxr1000 maybe. If I magically find a pristine black front wheel cheap, maybe I’d just replace it since I do have the rotors already and I just put new Cush rubbers in the rear. Idk

So then I installed the healtech. I didn’t use the extra washers as the instructions said they prefer you to use bcuz there wasn’t enough thread engagement after adding the sensor. Besides that, super easy install.

Healtech worked perfectly out of the box, but since it has an app of course I rode around and messed with it on the fly and settled on 55ms kill time. Ordered some more parts, wheel, clutch support, tank quick release. Looking for a wide band

Zeitronix ZT-2 with the black box logger works well
Only complaint. Seems you have to buy micro sd cards from them
I have never found others that work

A buddy of mine used to drag race a GS. As I recall he swapped the rear shocks for struts. Is it common at the higher levels of racing to run a hard tail?

Back in the day yea, shock tech wasn’t all sophisticated like it is now so struts and bars were the way to go.

Now you can buy a $2500 shock and along with a good clutch, long swingarm, good electronics, tune it to 1.10 60ft times if u got the HP.

Personally I like a strut and wheelie bars. Simple.
