I guess thats true cause I never drive my car without listening to the radio and I drive pretty fast and have never crashed so I think its quite possible to listen to tunes and ride alert. I might have to give that a shot in the summer time.

my helmut is pretty noisy tho. flows a lot of air but noisy.

I absolutely think music helps you focus longer on those long rides. But we were talking about bike to bike radio. This is essential in my opinion. On those tight 2 lane twisties you can call back when it's clear for passing, call when something is wrong on your bike or you see something on someone else's bike; call out danger like animals or stuff in the road, and best of all talk trash. Only caution is riding with someone who talks too much or forgets and leaves the mic open so it sounds like Darth Vader is following you:laugh:

usually stop about every 100 miles or so for a 15min break then back on bike for more riding. Yesterday 350 miles between my two bikes. It was an awesome day and got down right chilly on my way home.

i like to ride solo, ride where i want to stop when i want to and most of the time all is riding other than stop for drink or use the bathroom.. i put 180 miles yesterday on the bike..
when i go with my friend we normally stop more often and talk $$it all the time.. i don't really care for that when i want to ride..

2-3 hours if possible with a few stops and maybe breakfast, lunch, or dinner to add to it.

Tim can talk endlessly about riding, don't let him trick you into stopping  Actually he is long winded but I learned a lot from listening to him

Depending on the trip I try or have to stop about every 1.5 hrs. just to stretch my back a little. If it's mostly interstate I can go a little longer but not much. I don't like riding in town much and I hate to ride with people that just wanna ride from bar to bar. I wish I could do better so I could enjoy it more

That's tough man. I can't imagine riding with back problems. You obviously really love the sport. :beerchug:

when i ride with other people, we end up stopping alot, about every 100mi or so.

when people ride with me, they cry in their helmets. :beerchug:

I saw you posted here and was all ready to call you a liar if you said you stopped before you were out of gas:laugh:

When I'm by myself, I don't stop until I need gas. I stop for a couple of minutes and that's it. I like to keep moving especially when I'm doing the Iron Butt.:laugh:

When I ride alone, the non-riding is minimal. If the group wants to visit and bs I usually go off on my own or with the guys that are there to ride. Not that sometimes it's a visiting thing, but not often at all.
With music usually =)

I ride. My last group ride was a little less than 80%, but that was the Hooter Girls fault.

In 2006 I was riding with a group in their late teens , early twenties and they took forever to meet up and stopped every twenty minutes to smoke and BS. I can remember waiting like an hour to start a ride and just as we were about to kick the kick stands up a guy said " I need to get gas " . We had been sitting at a gas station for an hour

Riding with Robert............. 10 minutes down the road DO3 says hang on I have to check the forum... Pulls over replys to a few threads.... They all jump back on there bikes and cruise off....... aother 15 minutes pass into the ride and D03 motions all to pull over....... Hang on guys I need to check the forum and post again

Depends on which buddy / buddies I am riding with.. My harley buddies like to stop often to add oil and retorque nuts and bolts, my alcholic buddies like to stop at every watering hole for a beer, my chain smoking buddies like to stop avg every 30 minutes to burn atleast 3 ciggaretes, my puzzy whiiped buddies NEED to stop every 45 mins to check in with there wives and so on.
Average local spirited runs usully every 35-45 minutes. New roads limited time avg1 hour, On the interstate heading to a destination every 1.0 - 1.5 hours for gas

 yall do love me.

i am a person of extremes. when i party, i get jiggy with it, but when it's time to make some miles, you had better learn to smoke and ride at the same time. :beerchug:

short side story-
stayed up late drinking whiskey and running the bar out of shotgun shells shooting rotten pumpkins. the next day me and my nephew have to ride out early.
we get up and hit the road, after 40mi, he pulls up his helmet and pukes over the side of his bike at 70mph.
100mi later i did the same thing. :puke:
we made almost 600mi that day. :cheerleader:

sometimes when "it's time to ride" = IT'S TIME TO RIDE! :race:
