Where are the "gloved ones"?

I have the Held Akira's. I've worn them for just over three years and 12,000 miles. They're a little pricey but well worth it. Check 'em out. there's a few different styles too.

Held. Almost like the Holy Grail of motorcycle gloves. I have heard nothing but good stuff about these guys.

Yeah, the price is a little disconcerting, but I think that's something I'd prolly take in stride.

I have JR GPX gloves.  They have the best feel of any glove I have tried.  Though I think they've been replaced with GPX2 which I haven't tried yet.

When it comes to gear, first you want protection then comfort.  Hands are very different from person to person.  That's why I go out and try on everything out there.  If I'm uncomfortable, I'll end up crashing.
Man...I wish I could do the same, Charles. Unfortunately, I can't afford to.

I'm still not convinced about the JR's. Mebbe if they give me a pair of gloves made specifically for an AMA or Moto-GP rider, I'll do it.

Aside from that, they fail to win my vote of confidence.

+1 on the Akira's!!! If you are considering gloves in this price range at all go and try them on! I tried a set by accident at a bike shop one time and just went WOW! Went right out and bought em. Kangaroo skin, Carbon fiber top of the line everything. Only complaint is that after two years of use the Elastic wrist enclosure is fraying a little bit.
I'm debating if I should just bend over the barrel for the Helds.

I'd still like to get further input though. How is the palm? Fingers? Are they thick? Obstruct movement? Feel? Response?

Held gloves are the shiznit...
You've been singing of the virtues of Helds for quite sometime, bro...and I don't take your opinions lightly.

I wanna hear more about 'em.

good post. i have the jr's supermotos in spring and summer versions...got me thinkin of better protection now.

Well as far as crash protection, I think they are pretty good, but not great or the best. I guess I could compare em to my boots. My Sidi boots are like the GP-Tech's of gloves, and my Cor-tech tour master - soft leather boots would be like my SP-1 gloves.

Ok, great Paul, now you did it, now you got me thinking I need new gloves.

Heheh...no worries, John. For me, it's a little different. I'm lookin for somethin good 'cause I've already gone through the "been there, done that" ordeal.

I don't think I can afford to lose anymore of my nerve endings. Or my skin.

Or my ravishingly good looks.

Seriously, though...don't settle for second best.

I was waitin for ya to show up, my bro!

Talk to me...how goes them Pros? Tell me everything. Are they a nuisance to break in? Thick? Are they thick to the point where it dulls the feedback from the bike?

How did yours hold up in the crash? Comparison to the GP Tech?

Eager to hear what yer gonna say.
