Where are the "gloved ones"?

When I first decided to order up a good pair of gloves, the first thing I tried was the Icon Ti max gauntlet gloves. Got 'em in and too small. Exchange for a bigger size and when they arrived, I figured there was no way I was going to be happy with the thickness of the palms and fingers. The feel was horrible. So i sent them back and coughed up the money for the Helds. Three years later I couldn't have made a better choice. I live in south Florida so heat is definitely an issue. Like I stated before, when the palms start to sweat through, It's time for a good cleaning and some Nikwax.
The palms and palm side of the fingers is the thinnest I've seen. And supposedly stronger than cow leather. I'll snap a few pictures for you in a few so you can see what they look like after 3+ years of use. Keep in mind these are the only gloves I own or wear. Pics to come in a few. Hope this help you out.
And FWIW, I think there is a pair to be had with the kangaroo palms for like $149 or so.

Try these bro...Alpinestar GP Pro's

I was waitin for ya to show up, my bro!

Talk to me...how goes them Pros? Tell me everything. Are they a nuisance to break in? Thick? Are they thick to the point where it dulls the feedback from the bike?

How did yours hold up in the crash? Comparison to the GP Tech?

Eager to hear what yer gonna say.
I haven't tried the GP Tech...I have one pair of the GP pro's that I have had for three years. I just picked up a second pair before the Vegas trip...they weren't broken in yet so I was wearing my Held's.

Do ya have anyone near you that stocks the Alpinestars or the Held's

That's exactly what turns me off about 'em! Too thick...ugh. Crash protection would be awesome, but that's a risky sacrifice.

I'm a little offset by the "thin palms" part. Will they provide decent protection?

I think the closest one to me is a 6 hour flight east. Somewhere in Hawaii, I think.

ok, lets see...In the Super expensive Glove topic we have the following.

-Alpinestars GP PRO, or GP TECH
-SPIDI Penta
-HELD Akira

Been reading and here the Helds have issues with Rivet issues breaking off. Alpinestars seem to tear out the palms after a crash, and the Spidi's..well haven't read anything bad yet except the price.

The Held's that I have are the ones with the Kangaroo palms....super comfortable

They took a beating in my fall...but they did their job.

The Alpinestar GP Pro is a racing glove with great protection, ventilation, and very comfortable...they take a few rides to break in 3-4 good rides and your set

I looked at the Held's on NewEnough...

Which would be their top of the line?

Krypton
Galaxy
Profi
Ninja

I didn't see the Akiras.

Krypton seems to be the top dog, but will leave them for Darth Vader...sorta scarey looking..lol

Hmm...interesting.

I think my decision has been wheedled down to three right now:

Held Akiras
Alpinestars GP Pro
Alpinestars GP Tech

Anything else on the Helds? Feeling?

If I was going to buy another pair, it would be the Galaxy. Only a couple of dollars more. The main reason would be that I think that in the event of a get off, having straps on the bottom would be better.

Done! I think I'll start squirreling away the needed funds.

Now I just gotta decide which one to pull the trigger on. Held? Tech? Pro?

Aah...decisions.
