Who did it

(newmill @ Jan. 25 2007,00:18) if there werent sponges in the ocean would the ocean be deeper?
No. My sister-in-law doesn't swim. And she definetly won't fit in the microwave.[/Quote]
You'll never know unless you TRY fitting her in the microwave...

Hey, who else realizes we are jacking the forum owners OWN thread?

The sad part about people who do stupid things like this is :
They have jobs and drive cars to work.

*sighs, shakes head.* I mean, honestly...you'd figure that most people would have sense to wet the sponge first.

Oh well...

Talk about thread jacking, weeellllllll when I picked up some medicine for my first baby years ago; the pharmacist warned me to remove the foil prior to inserting it in the kids rectum. He apologized and added red faced that someone had actually left the foil on recently.

"STUPID is as STUPID does" My favorite line of all time. I guess you can see it all day long!

Well.... I can tell you... that a rubberband in the microwave has the same effect as a dry sponge.

And if said rubberband is wrapped around a dry rag while IN the microwave, removed and then thrown on top of a discarded pillow in a trash can... it WILL ignite the pillow.

I doubt their data. I have microwaved plenty of pizza and two minutes kills it. I would reckon a buck ten would kill most things.

Sounds like something my husband would do....Like when he tried to heat some chicken up in a Pyrex dish directly on the burners of the stove.
I had just gottn' home for grocery shopping and he was helping me get the stuff in when we heard this LOUD boom. I was like WTF? and he took off running saying something about glass
I was cleaning that glass up for at least a week. That sucker BLEW UP, didn't crack, but blew up into a million tiny pieces. I even found glass down the garbage disposal.

*shaking head*

Don't use sponges to clean in the kitchen.
If you do, throw them out on a regular basis and buy new sponges.

wetting the sponge before microwaving... well thats like removing the aluminum foil like wrapper off of butter before microwaving... if you don't do either you get a fireworks show and lots of smoke.. oh then you buy a new microwave... LOL

try putting one of those old CD's or DVD's that failed to burn, you know the ones you have laying round that you are using for drink coasters, in the microwave for say 10 seconds.  I recommend using some elses microwave.  I hear it leaves nice random etchings and weird color marks.  I have one that looks like Jesus that I will be selling on Ebay in the next few days if someone is interested.  Comes with a letter of Authenticity!

Yes they do make cool markings and look REALLY cool in the burning, mark making process. Eggs are really fun to explode in them too... And if you have a spare golfball and an old microwave, I've heard they shoot out at about the 3:00 minute mark...
