Who Rode Today?

I don't know brother...come on up and hang out mid January when the wind is blowing and it's -40 out and then we'll talk about tough....

The nice thing is you can always put on more clothes to get warm but when it's a million degrees out there, even being naked won't cool you off...
I used to not care about the cold but as I've gotten older I've decided I would rather be hot then cold especially after being spoiled by the shop I've worked at for the last 6 years having ac and good heat. I found this last winter i didn't get out for many cold weather rides like I usually do and it's put me to thinking I need to get somewhere south again so I can really enjoy my bike.

Yup. I hate the cold. Shorts, tshirt I'm happy. (not on the bike tho)

I find I don't mind the cold....I especially like it when it is real cold and crisp out...I enjoy going for snowshoe walks on those days....sometimes I pack a lunch and walk into the bush to find a spot to sit and relax...the quiet it real peaceful and it seems to be more quiet with a blanket of snow..

Sadly the bike has to be stored for this period but such is life.

That's what fast sleds are for. ;)

I have never walked in snow , or driven etc. , never actually been near snow , but I still know to avoid yellow snow for some reason !!

…I dreamed I was an Eskimo….

That's quite a claim to fame but you aren't alone in that one...I've been in every environment there is and had to survive...Queensland was hot and dry the year I was there (mid '80s).

I like the snow although there are days when it is less than pleasurable especially if there are storms back to back...means lots of time spent clearing it. This is our gazebo around Christmas time...just a very light dusting on the ground then...a few days after this picture and the snow was halfway up the rails..

Loud pipes piss off neighbors.....but the bike is looking good...
Bloody do they what .... My neighbor , good bloke does some work at a local cafe , said two cops , regulars for donuts and milk , asked him this morning if he knew the other neighbors where he and I both live . He said they , the pigs , had been complained too , about my motorcycle ridden strangely??? to / fro my residence .
Those disrespecting bastards around me do not appreciate my occasional gassing up both my bikes and small wheelies etc. .....apparently ...
toad has to chill for awhile now ... got enemies everywhere it seems !!!

Loud pipes are not just on bikes.....there is a guy who comes into our neighborhood to drop off his child at a home based daycare....he has a Ram truck with what I would depict as a muffler delete....if he would idle in and idle out it wouldn't be so bad but he gets on it going out...

I was thinking of opening up my Ram's exhaust but this guy's truck is so annoying I wouldn't even think of doing this now.....

There is an old adage which says "never crap in your own backyard" and I live by that...

I guess I'm just getting old...

Not old, considerate.

Too hot and humid to ride a bike today....it's 0700 and already 85'F out and when you go outside it's like breathing water as it rained last night so the humidity is hovering...

Last night I went with my neighbor to pick up a load of construction wood and on our way home, a guy on a very loud HD was passing us on a 2 lane back road...when he did so, he slowed down to keep pace with us and looked in with a big smile and a head nod then stomped on the throttle to pull away.... If we knew the guy it would have at least made a little sense...

I had to laugh beside myself...I said to my neighbor..."and there he goes, the guy who really likes to turn fossil fuel into noise." I told him if I did the same thing while I was on my bike, I'd be a little speck in the distance by now...

OK it wasn't today but I've been jonesin for a (cool) ride for weeks instead of the triple digit WEEKS of temps we've had around here. So, I looked up some old (cool) pics from prior rides.View attachment 1639429View attachment 1639430View attachment 1639431View attachment 1639432View attachment 1639433View attachment 1639434View attachment 1639435View attachment 1639436View attachment 1639437View attachment 1639438
That is beautiful countyside to ride in , real nice part of the world you are living in .
I realize I have picked up a interesting habit since covid lockdowns , that is I cannot help myself when I see footage or stills of forests in North America , I constantly scour the tree line for bigfoot .
