Who Rode Today?

Just over 200 miles today . Went to Yankees tavern for lunch . Met a nice little pitty puppy. She was a doll .

First ride of 2020 for me. Temp about 52 degrees. Just a quick 40 mile jaunt to satisfy that itch and have a few giggles inside of my helmet. No wildlife other than the usual roadkill which included a skunk on this trip. I was ripping it pretty good when I was approaching an area where the “law-dawg” likes to tuck into. My spiderman senses told me to dial it back and sure enough as I passed he was tucked in there. (the one good thing about the quiet exhaust) Got a few pics.

Now back to football I go.

I forgot to post this about my last ride. I write a lot of posts in MS Word and then forget to post them or decide maybe I shouldn't post them!

Anyway, an old lady turned in front of me. If that wasn't bad enough she realized what she had done in the middle of the turn and just stopped, completely blocking all escape routes. At first I decided I was going to crash and was thinking hit the car or ditch it? But then with 2 fingers I started pulling on the brake lever. I could feel that point of maximum traction and feather the brakes to the brink and back. I thought to myself hey maybe I can get this stopped. When all was done I stopped with 5-6 feet to spare. I felt the back of the bike slam down to the ground again. With Brembos the amazing quality is the feel but this new setup has a lot more power than the M4s did. I thought wow, these brakes just paid for themselves!

I'm still getting used to the power. I come to a turn and hit the brakes and then I'm going too slow and I have to speed up into the turn, Lol! You can compress the braking zones an amazing amount, on a track these would be worth seconds easy. On the street you feel like superman.

I find the same thing in corners with my bike...at first I would over brake without noticing and then have to speed up to get through the corner...

It was the first few rides on this bike that I realised how bad the brakes were on my Bandit (and those brakes were set up with HH pads and ss lines).

The bike must have been pretty snappy sucking in that cold air...

It is...I don't drive it to it's limits by any means. Less in the winter with cold tires and all. I do ride fairly aggressive at times when I am out though.

Today I somehow left my helmet strap undone and had to stop and fix it.

Makes total sense to me..good way to end up in a farmer's field is getting frisky on cold tires and pavement.

I recall during my snowmobile days, the colder it was the better my sled ran...

I took my CR250R out in the winter a few times and boy was it ever liking the cold air...

He wrecked the super chicken damn !! Hope he is ok. Unfortunately every one I see is wrecked I also had one and yes it’s wrecked. They carried my rooster away in 5 gallon buckets. And it retired my brother from riding! You see less and less of them.
