Who Rode Today?

My dad had a shop on the East Side E&T Garage on Mt Elliot right across from the cemetary. This was YEARS ago though lol. I visit 1-2 times a year usually for family related stuff, I may be up again in June for my cousin's graduation celebration.
If you make it up be sure to let me know.

Downtown is a whole new place over the last few years, used to be only a select few of its that would go downtown and walk around now it's a happening spot all the time, cleaned up and looking good down there. I remember when the superbowl was here I was downtown drinking at the bars and telling everyone how they weren't seeing the real Detroit because they had opened a bunch of temporary spots for the homeless to get warm and eat so the tourists weren't bothered by them. A few Detroit cops I knew told me how they over packed the jails at that time with a bunch of people they were just holding to keep off the street. Now it looks better then when they were faking it. But if you leave downtown area and go into some of thr neighborhoods that's where u see all the abandoned houses and empty overgrown lots. But you can see downtown's growth slowly spreading out ti those areas, it's just a shame that a lot of those old beautiful houses are torn down to put up new style ones where the whole block has 3 different styles just copied and pasted up and down the street.
I remember seeing pictures of Detroit in it's glory days..it was really something.

I was born in Detroit and still have family there. I also lived in Roseville in 77 off 13 and Gratiot. I went back in 92 and lived in Clinton Township.

I stopped by the Harley dealer on my ride today just to take a look at the new electric bike. I sat on it. Not bad but way over priced. I would not replace my busa with it if I could afford it.

for one thing, it's yesterday??? WTH??
also, why is it 76F in the middle of your winter?
That's what it is here, and it's our summer . . .
it's also 10am Sunday morning and a gorgeous day for a ride on my Busa!

I got a quick 56 miles in today before going over to my buddy’s to watch college football. Temp was mid 60s and lots of bikes were out today. No wildlife today had to reroute due to a pretty bad accident with two cars on a backroad. It amazes me how many cars almost pull out prior to seeing the bike then stop. I’m always looking and expecting that they don’t see me and plan and adjust speeds accordingly. Prob my last ride until I get back from vacation. (Unless I can sneak one tomorrow morning my next ride likely will be in 2020). Only pic I took was of the new fuel cap you can see how it ties in with the gold on the graphics.

76 and summer huh......damn. our summers are 100 and f my couch LOL

I went for another blast today . . and I was the one 'blasted', wind blasted!
We went to Methven, a small town at the foot of the mountains, and there was a hot rod/classic car show on there . .
On the way there the winds were gusting strong, side winds of around 50mph, and head winds also. It was tough holding a straight line.
Sunny and warm otherwise.
Took a few pics of some lovely old Nortons and an Indian . .

Below, Ray Coleman's super charged custom 900cc Norton Commando,
Early GSXR front end, 17" 3 spoke Suzuki wheels, custom cut 'wave' rotors (he cut them by hand), I'm unsure what the blower is from, forgot to ask.
He says it's an animal to ride and idles at 2500rpm, virtually unrideable when you open the throttle, he seldom rides it but takes it to shows and always wins prizes!

Below is a Commando owned by the 2nd owner for 42 years.
Fully restored, and has an aftermarket starter motor fitted to it.

Below is Paddy Snowden's custom built Indian Flat Tracker.
He bought it on Ebay from the US, Iowa reg plate/tag fitted, the chassis is beautifully crafted by the builder he bought it from, 1200cc engine.
Very cool machine.

I sure wouldn't want to open up that supercharged Snortin' Norton with a stock frame-it'd flex around like a spaghetti noodle I imagine...

You came across some nice bikes there...
That’s for sure!
When I think back to pre internet/cell phone days, to take pics on my old 1980 Asahi Pentax SLR was an art, paying to have films and pics processed, and only being able to show them to local friends . . Now I just quickly snap off a few pics with my apple iPhone and voila! Next thing you know people on the other side of the planet are looking at them and enjoying the display.
Amazing how far the technology has taken us and how connecting it is, creating new communities across the globe.
Never ceases to amaze me

Finally went for a decent ride today to test all the latest mods and can definitely say every single one was worth it, rode with 3 close friends which is rare as I never ride with anyone.

It was fun playing cat and mouse with another Bus running almost similar mods, can’t help but say most used to live in my closet as spares but thankfully they’re being put to good use.

@ROADTOAD1340 The Ohlins forks may look familiar.

430kms in total and still have over 1/4 of fuel left.
