newmill,
Would be a blast if we can go as fast as a "busa. But this ferry ain't too shabby: four turbocharged 18-cylinder engines, each one cranking 4700 HP (purrs along at 50 knots).
Plus, it can hold quite a lot of 'busas in the mission bay.

18 years (E-8) and counting in the US Navy. Currently assigned as the "doc" and senior enlisted guy on a plain ol' "car ferry" (see pic below)

BTW, spent a lot of time working with the Marines (OKI, Camp Pen). Anyone know why the Marines no longer need a FEW good men?rock.gif Cause they already have the Navy CORPSMAN!!!! idea.gif

J/K DEVIL DOGS!!!!!
Hey Krome -
You and IDC? I spent some time/trips on the HSV off of Kin Beach - we did the initial loading of aircraft on the Austal Ship.

Corpsman up!

MC MUSTANG,
Yes, sir.... IDC here and have to say that I consider the years I spent with the Marines the best years of my career so far (MWSS-172, 3rd Trax, 3/1, 2/4, 3/5, CEB). Heck, I have often joked that if the Corps had its own medical department, I would be a Marine right now.

Ahhhhh...I'm familiar with these. They are frequently used as auxiliary power generators in "special" facilities. Heard the oil changes are gargantuan.
