Why did you choose a busa?

Buddy of mine let me take his copper busa for a spin in 1999. Never looked back ever since. It fits me like a glove especially with 6'8" frame and has an extra umph to it.

The more people said it was ugly, the more I wanted it. Plus, I'm a big guy and at the time all the sportbikes were made for ooompa loompas

wanted something a little bigger that i could ride longer on. and everything else that is great about this bike didn't hurt

i didn't think there was any other sport bike out there other than the busa...well i guess i just lucked out!

BUT, very nice ride, very comfortable, love the way it handles!

Had an RF600, wife got pregnant and wanted me to get a "safer" bike, which meant a cruiser.. Had a 750 v-twin honda.. Hated it but kept it for 4 months. Month 5 I traded it up for the fastest, baddest bike on the planet, the rest is history.

I was originally a honda man and loved my CBRXX.Then the BUSA came along and put my bike to shame! Honda ran wit their tail between their legs and left me hangin! So i became a suzuki man and bought me a BUSA and lovin every minute of it!

still dont have mine yet (looking for a cheap stock 99 or 2000 that i can pimp to my style)
but i was reading a bike mag(cant remember what one) the cover said"satan your busa is ready", someday (soon i hope) ill get mine then ride with chrisjp.

oh lookie i got a fan!!! Hey jory!!!

Well i was going in to the local Sports Bike Dealer to buy a back tire for my Harley. I saw the Busa and said to myself thats nice. About two months later i bought the Bus. I had Know idea what it was but i liked it. After taking it home and repainting it and tuning it up i like it. I was 65 when i bought it i just love taking it to 11 TH in 1,2 3 then it settles down and you are on you way. I don't even ride my Harley any more. In a few months i will be 69 and just got back from Laguna Seca. As soon as i got back went to the computer and put a new map in it. Never enough HP.

In love with the look & the horsepower. It was 1999 and I had to have one!! Years later, I've now got two!

comfort, comfort, comfort, awesome looking, comfort, comfort, comfort, awesome motor, comfort, comfort, comfort, lots of cool upgrades. :beerchug:

I had ridden several of the late model 600's, 750's and 1000's and was pretty much convinced all the late model stuff was peaky and uncomfortable. I started looking for a hayabusa as a joke, as I thought there was no way I could afford one or insurance as I was 24 almost 25 last year. Well, I got to reading over and over how fast, comfortable and reliable they were on here as well as other sites. When I ran across my old blue 2006 hayabusa and said I will own that bike. I soon discovered the turbine smooth power, high speed stability and how well it fit me (6'1, 200). I screwed up and sold it...but...I pick up my black and grey 06 hayabusa this Saturday....and it will fill the void in my garage...and heart...I can honestly say I':rofl:ve never been as fond of a bike as I was, and will be again, than with a hayabusa.

im 6'5 290 pounds of beast and figured it would pull around my fat ass better than my r1 and i was right :p this is why i ride a busa

Well, its kind of a long story. I moved from Michigan to Florida. I was racing an asphalt drag sled in Michigan and loved the power, the sound and the hang on for dear life acceleration. I worked for three years here in Florida and decided I needed something with andrenaline producing abilities. I missed the rush as it was almost like sex. I am a speed/acceleration junky.

So, I took an MSF course as required in Florida for your license. I rode a Honda CB 250 Touring model in the class that they had. It was a real piece of junk. Beat on very hard for years in the MSF class.

I passed and talked with a friend at work about which bike I should buy. He said with my size (320lbs) to look at a Yamaha V-Max or a Suzuki BKing. He said they both accelerate very quickly and have a ton of power. Knowing I did not want to buy a "first bike" and screw around with it only to buy another one, I wanted a seriously quick, in your face street bike. I then looked at pricing. The V-Max was around $17,000 and the BKing was $8800. That made the decision. Since this was my first bike ever and I only had the MSF course under my belt, the salesman took his GSXR 750 and we rode around the industrial area next to the shop for about 30 minutes. He left and I continued for about 2 more hours. Just riding up to 25mph max and then stopping and practicing intersections, turns etc. I then rode it home. (about 10 minutes)

I then rode it every day around a subdivision by my house to get more time on it and more experience. Max speed about 40 and I was also following the break in procedure in the owners manual. I did this each day for about three weeks. Then I took it out onto the road. I rode about 2 hours a day just nice and easy up to 70 or 80 max. Finally the odometer said that break in period was over. I then wanted to check the pull of WFO in each gear. I started in 6th, then 5th, 4th and 3rd. I felt WFO in second was too much so I had reached my newbie limit.

I kept practicing and finally WFO in 2nd was easy. I don't bother with it in 1st as it 1st gear at WFO is like unleashing a 800 triple 2-stroke moter at 11,000 rpm. The hounds of hell are nipping at your heels! I also have no desire to buy another bike due to lack of performance! So, my mission has been accomplished.

That is why I bought a BKing with a Busa motor. I wanted king of the street performance as I grew into my first bike!
