Why no 200mph stock???

i see a lot of guys talking about a 16/42 setting???
does anyone know what the top speed would be with that

I only weigh about 140-150 and about 5'8... Ive maxed it out a dozen times.. Does pegged on the speedo really mean 190? its only taken me less than a mile to get there too

Where did you ever read that a stock Busa would do 200 stock ?? And if you look at the record books you will see that it is the baddest bike . this post seems funny to me , how about you guys?

there was a magazine in the UK that stated they reached 200.1 on a supposedly stock i beleive 99 model. the next fastest magazine test was Cycle World at 194. of course mine may go over 300 depending how many beers i"ve had to drink

I thought this bike was 200mph capable in unrestricted but still bone stock form. I just bought the baddest bike and there are doubts in my head as to whether it is actually as bad as I once thought. What gives???
It IS the baddest bike. As to whether or not it's as bad as you thought it was, I can't answer that. I'm not a mind reader so I'm not sure as to how "bad" you actually thought it was.
Bottom line though, if you wanted the baddest bike and you don't think the Suzuki Hayabusa is it, you will be highly disappointed if you choose to try out another bike.

Oh yeah, the 2006 Hayabusa which will be changed from the model we have grown to know and love will hit 200. It says so in a magazine found online but nobody actually owns ...

i had a Hodaka 125 that went 192(3 TRE's and 93 octane) but i was so disappointed i went out and bought a Busa cause i thought that japanese writing on the front said 200 mph or bust

I have been reading posts on various forums of guys with Busas having to spray them or do mods or power adders to get to 200mph. I thought this bike was 200mph capable in unrestricted but still bone stock form. I just bought the baddest bike and there are doubts in my head as to whether it is actually as bad as I once thought. Why dont you convert your speedo to KMPH ... that way you will touch 200 very fast, and a stock bike will take you to 300 maxed out

...ok, on a serious note... im about 300 pounds!!

So what do you think will be the top speed of my busa, with me on it!!! The maximum i have done now is 160MPH ... cause i dont have a really long strech of road here in the city i live!!

Wow, I hear a lot of BS flying around here... lol!

the 200.1mph run was false. The magazine later made a retraction stating their timing devices were off and the bike in fact did NOT do a true 200mph. Fact is... the fastest bone stock test done was at 194mph in an 8 mile straight on a perfect day. That 194mph is a mph that has NEVER been duplicated by any other test since 1999. Every other mag has tested it doing anywhere from 192-178mph in bone stock trim.

Here is a website to help you understand more of the truth behind the Busa.

Oh and Mike Spizak.... 198mph on a stock busa? Must have been SPEEDO indicated... not GPS. Which of course... means nothing since suzuki's outrageously optimistic speedo's were reading 220mph back in 1999-2000 when the bike was really doing 194mph or so.

Oh and Ninja Eater... it doesn't take that much room or power to hit 200mph. There are guys on Busa's that run 200-204mph on GPS in the 9/10th's with roughly 190-200rwhp.

Deja Vu.  Over on the Ninja250 forums everybody swears up and down a bone stock 250 cannot go 100.  I've had mine to 104 GPS and I calculate that I'll run out of gear at 115.  It still wants to pull at 104.

I'm thinking rainspider hit the nail on the head, a stock unrestricted Busa can get up there on a good day.

Anyone wanna give me a push on their way to 200?

You think wrong brother.... Can't be done. Not on it's best day on a 20 mile straight. Stock gearing on a busa is good for roughly 196mph on the rev limiter in 6th.

And what IS the limiter in 6th???

Some charts suggest gearing is for 201...

+1

And that's if conditions are perfect, rider ain't too heavy, full-leathers, perfect aero-tuck, etc. But that's also being pretty optimistic. I think revlimit is 10.2-10.4 range. Fact remains you need more hp than stock to achieve 200.

gnd111- oh how little you know about the "other" side of 150mph....

you see... you're looking at "charts"... I'm talking about real world testing.

Stock gearing Stock tire height = 196mph +/-

ask any Land Speed Guru.
