Will suzuki be making any upgrades on 2013?

The times are tough and the manufacturer that produces the best and exciting bike at the best price will get the sales. The ones that try to flog the same old will fall by the way side.

Great Bike! Congrats. Let me know how your feeling after a 300 mile ride!

300? On a nice fall day I am known to do a 450+ a day on my Busa. 6ft 7 and no aches or pains from a long day of riding. I dont think I would fit on a 1000 I know on a gixxer I look like a monkey fudging a football! Busa for life!

I just ordered a 2012 S1000RR. The same old Busa with different paint doesn't cut it for me. I love my bike, but with the technological advancements offered elsewhere, I decided to go embrace them. Traction control, abs, awesome handling, 378 lbs dry and 193 crank hp... Not a really tough decision for me.

I am Sooooooo jealous just not willing to sell my GEN II to do it.

Where will it end?
Say Suzi comes out with a 1441 Busa to compete with the new Zx.
Then what happens? Kawi will be inclined to counter with this possible supercharged Zx.
Then what? Suzi re counters? Suzi is stuck right now between competition and world wide political correctness. Neither wants to awaken the us govt. let's just hope a bunch of kids don't kill themselves in highly publicized accidents on the new Zx14.

2014 is supposed to be when the Gen III will hopefully be released (assuming Suzuki doesn't continue on their downward spiral of losing sales and canning different models). If a Gen III is released, it would be logical to assume it will be faster and better than what Kawasaki has right now. However, given how things have been going I would not be surprised if there won't be a Gen III beyond 2014 and that it will continue to just be color swaps.

I'm in a similar boat right now. I got a 2011 in June and will be getting a 2012 ZX-14R next week. If I had known that the ZX-14R was going in to Gen II this year and would be faster than the Busa, as much as I love the looks of the Busa, I'm not going to lie... I would have just bought the ZX-14R alone. As cool as it would be to have both, I'm really contemplating on selling the Hayabusa in the Spring. It sucks, I only have 150 miles on the thing and already upgraded the exhaust. But from an economical perspective, it doesn't make any sense to have both. I figure I'll just unload the ZX-14R once the Gen III Busa arrives (assuming it's not just a color swap and will be faster than the ZX-14R).

I thought it was a cult thing, for me if the ZX14 ended up going forwards, more powerful and faster than my Busa I wouldnt give one, when I'm in the mountains in Europe and the ZX14's are all flying past me I may consider my position, however by then Hell will be much cooler.

If ya take a knife and take slices offa me it will say on every slice SUZUKI HAYABUSA, just like a stick of Blacpool Rock has Blackpool all the way through it.

ZX14, Get thee behind me satan, its never gonna happen :laugh:

If a new Busa does come out expect to pay in the $15-16K range. Based on what is happening with the dollar. If you wait till the US dollar fall out of the world currency spot then expect to pay much much higher

Better hope they continue to make the Hayabusa period. The way Suzuki is dropping models lately, I'm wondering. They aren't even trying to compete. The Ninja 650 was putting some serious competition to the SV650 market, so did 'Zuk update and fight back? Nope, threw in the towel and just dropped the model. Instead of re-making the Bandit 1250 to compete with the CB1000 and Ninja 1000, Zuk just dropped that model too. If the new ZX-14R cuts the Busa sales figures, will they try to compete, or will the Busa go the way of the SV and Bandit?

Hmm, there are 2012 SV650's and GSX1250SFA's (faired Bandit) available in Canada, I'm surprised that they're not being sold south of the border.

If Suzuki don't get their act together soon I am gonna get a Charley-Davidson:D

Nah. With wheels coming from China I will be too scared to go faster than 40.

Personally, I think both the Busa and the ZX14 are getting closer each year to the end of their life cycle. Superbike performance will go back to liter bikes and heavy sport touring bikes will focus more on comfort in the future.

I've never really had a bias towards any company... alright, well, maybe just a smidgen towards Suzuki hehe. But I go with whoever is putting out the best and baddest. As I said before though, I very much do prefer the aesthetics of the Busa over the ZX-14R, but it's not a deal breaker and they're practically almost equal to me. However, Suzuki has definitely been resting on the laurels of the Busa's history and reputation for too long. The Harley Davidson of sports bikes me thinks?

They redid the 600 and 750 this year. So hopeful next year they redo the 1000. Then hopeful the Busa is next in line.

Gen 3 busa has to be putting out 190-200RWHP...I figure based on the bmwRR putting down 175ish and the new 14 prob putting down close to 190-200...the busa can loose some weight without sacraficing the dynamics...they do need to clean up that ass end...looks horrid IMO...but a 1500cc sounds awesome to me...we can just hope:please:

So if you like the Busa why not add a Bazzaz with TC and upgrade the Busa engine to get equal power to the new ZX14? For what you will lose going to a ZX14 you could have Bazzaz, lighter wheels, suspension work, and nice pipe and tune. Besides if you love Busas it would be much more fun to run down ZX14r's and just join them!

That's why I think Kawasaki messed up. If they had put ABS on the zx14R then it would not be possible to make a competitive bike to it out of an old Busa. Besides you won't get a deal on a ZX14 now. I checked at my dealer and he wants $1000 over list!!!!!!! Says he can only get 2 of them this year.

Different companies take turns as time goes by leading in performance. I think with the current economy and Suzuki's approach to saving money to stay afloat, it might be another new age in the big sportbike division. I think kawi is going to be ruling the roost and taking over for the busa. I just hope they keep the busa around :please:
I don't think suzuki will be able to answer back to the 14R for quite a while to come.

I think you're probably spot on. I hope Suzuki can pull out of this dive.

Great Bike! Congrats. Let me know how your feeling after a 300 mile ride!
