Oh yes it is back! smile.gif

I think this one will rage for a while. Kawi tried several times to get where they are today with the ZX14. MV Augusta is bragging about its new 312. Heck Maybe BMW will come out with a K1200HP model next year to try and fulfill the promise of the K1200. Yamaha is working on the new V-max, it too may end up being wicked fast as well. Honda has been rumored to be getting in this game again to try and get some market share back from the Busa Juggernaut. In the end though look at what is happening here. They are all more or less aiming at one target! The Hayabusa! Not just because of the Torque or the way it looks or all of the speed records it holds or the way it handles everything(!) with ease. The Hayabusa is the total package. What Manufacturer wouldn't want a piece of that? Nuff said.
And just to add to Post 36 above that I sent, and as per this posts’ MV Augusta mentioned. Why is it that they’ll claim something is faster than the Hayabusa when the Hayabusa has a speed limiter? Every time I mention to someone that you could simply remove the speed limiter, the other ‘faster’ motorcycle is not as fast overall. The removal of the speed limiter mod is not major surgery, it’s a simple modification. The Augusta is supposed to have a potential top speed of about 194. A simple mod and removal of the speed limiter and bye, bye MV.

I by no means condone eliminating the speed limiter. Achieving those speeds are most likely illegal and unnecessary. tounge.gif wink.gif What’s a TRE? AAAssjani.gif

By the way, why isn’t the MV Augusta conforming to the speed limiting agreement set by the other manufactures? rock.gif

The Busa wasn't exactly thrown from the hill by the 14. Most accept the Busa as the bike to have.

I can understand how some dislike the busa's looks, but at least is doesn't look like a retarded spider like the 13.5

I'll give the Kawi Forum Riders credit. They know what is happening. I like this quote

If Suzuki responds with a ZX-14 eatin' new BUSA then the ZX will be just a stepping stone for the BUSA. The public knows the Hyabusa by name and by look. Its been unchallenged for years. This will not change just because the ZX is faster for 1, 2 or even three years IF the BUSA comes back and beats the ZX in the NEAR future. BUT if Kawasaki can keep ahead of the game and anticipate BUSA's updates and keeps the ZX ahead for several years then everyone will have to know the ZX-14 and pay homage![/Quote]

Yep. It takes more than 1 or 2 years to dethrone the king. This isn't a boxing match where you win the title with one knockout. This is football (are you ready for some football???) where you may win the championship once, but it takes years to become the KING. BTW - the Busa has had the same name/model for how many years now? And the 14 is what, a year old? Let's rehash this in about 7 more years... beerchug.gif

I doubt the ZX-14 ever will be as popular as the hayabusa, but that should make Kawasaki try harder which hopefully will keep the pressure on the Suzuki. The busa needs more competition to keep the updates coming.
