Monday night and I just got back. Willie is still pretty sick, but I got a couple of smiles out of him. He is talking a little better each day. I hadn't seen him since Saturday evening. His legs seem to have good movement, which is an answer prayer in itself. His wife said he sat up today for about a minute.

Willie is still slowly improving. He is off the breathing tube and smiling when I tell him something funny...and calling my wife Debbie????? Who the heck is Debbie?

He is still too weak and out of it to read anything.The doctor said his body has taken a huge shock. I dont want to sound discouraging, but some may be from all the meds too.

Doug I was so ready to call you and come see Willie tonight but came down with a stupid sore throat and elevated blood sugars, went home from workas well.

Translated I am fighting a cold and figured there was not the best place just yet for me to be.

I figured he wouldn't be for a while,

He'll get there and then we can sneak him in all sorts of good food!!!

He's lost 14 lbs and gave up smokes. Amen

At 2pm today during the visiting time. Willie opened his eyes and looked around. He squeezed our hands and even moved his legs slightly. I talked to him and seemed to be unhappy with the tubes, which hopefully will come out soon. He's still on a lot of meds, but it was good to see he seems to be improving. My wife is going at 5 and hopefully she'll have even more good news.

It is good to hear that his recovery is coming along. Please keep us informed of how he is doing.
