Windjammer helmet gaitor

Just received 2 of these (one for the wife) and began using them this weekend. They are advertised to reduce helmet noise. I ordered them online from Proline Sports in the UK, and first read about them in www.webbikeworld.com. They fit around the bottom of the helmet providing a seal around the wearer's neck. It's made of neoprene and can be removed and reinstalled multiple times.

They pretty much work as advertised and reviewed. Helmet noise is definitely reduced from a roar that sounded as if it was inside the helmet to quieter external wind noise. A big improvement as far as comfort! On long trips ear plugs would still be a good idea, but this thing works, and at only $20 USD.

I also expect it to provide warmth in the colder months.

Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated in anyway with wbw or Proline Sports; I'm just a satisfied user.

Think I might be investing in this or something similar pretty soon. Looks like it would be a lot easier than trying to fill in the gaps of the helmet with a scarf when the weather starts getting cold.

I dont have any personal experience with the one your talking about but anything that will aid in closing off the open areaz around the neck will improve on wind noise coming from that area but may increase or make you take notice to the wind noise coming from the venturi system (Exhaust) on the top of most helmets used to remove heat in the helmet.

Anyway this is what I use currently ridegear.com

and will be getting this type shortly for my winter riding.

Thanks ,Ken.

I'VE GOT ONE AS WELL AND I SWEAR BY IT. THEY DO STRETCH OVER TIME BUT FOR THE MONEY IT IS WELL WORTH IT.

I think I like the look of yours better. It looks like a bit less binding. The rubber one looks like you would be jamming your head through a small hole.  I say looks like. Might not be the case. Forgot to add. What did you pay for both types?

I have all three versions of the NOJ quiet ryder. They "wedge" between the helmet liner and shell. I cant say anything negitive about them.

The first one pictured has a small zipper under the chin. It's a light weather to medium weather unit. Blocks most of the wind noise out. I use it with headphones and a chatterbox. Works perfectly. I prefer it now over none.

The lighter version not pictured doesnt have the zipper under the chin. It's a nice feature to let some air in.

The heavy duty version is when it's really really cold. Keeps alot off your neck too. I havnt had it back in for quite awhile. If it's below 50 usually Im not riding anyway to need it. Depending on your riding I would get the middle w/zipper or light weight version. If your an extremest or do early mornings when it's real cold go for the HD version. RUBBER WONT KEEP OUT THE COLD just my .02 cents.
