Worse Bike Wipe Outs VIDEO

On a second thought - power to the flick so we ride our bikes to the limit AT THE TRACK!

Wow thats damn scary thats only for awhile, but when you on the beast nothing is compared to the speed:laugh:

Speaking as a lanesplitter, the second crash was exactly how I got hit about a year ago, but if you check the driver crossed a double yellow, so the rider is in the right. Lanesplittin gis very much legal here in the Golden state, and I feel 10x safer spliting than I do being in the lane waiting for some cager to rear end me.

When I lived in Cali back in the 80's (where I started riding) I saw guys splitting lanes and was like "Whoa, WTF?" Then I found out it was legal. Then I began to ride and started doing it myself. However, I would always wait until another bike came along and then rode behind him. I figured a lot of drivers weren't either aware that bikes could/would do that or they weren't paying attention. But it sure wakes you up when you are driving a car and a bike goes by you splitting lanes. So I would let the biker in front of me alert people for me. And I LOVED that you could be first at every redlight in Cali too. Wish more states would adopt that law. Can't do that here in Florida.

The interesting part of that to me is this. There are several crashes that are just the riders fault for the kind of riding he was doing so setting that aside for the moment, the sobering ones were the crashes were the rider wasn't doing anything wrong. It just shows how fast those things can happen and how you cant do anything about it sometimes. Hence why you should wear all your gear. Thats the real good part for me. Its a reminder to keep your head on a swivel and keep your eyes open..:rulez:

Hey I did the same thing - wait for another rider to lead the lane splitting and stay behind him. If I have to do it alone I wait until the cars are bumper to bumper i.e. there's no room for the cagers to make any sudden lane changes. I see other riders still zooming pretty fast during lane splitting - call me chicken but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

To be honest - most of those crashes were avoidable - bad driving on bikes = bad news.

I've seen alot of those before,I have the STUNT'S GONE WILD video and watch it now and then.It make's forget about trying to learn to wheelie my bike.I do not want to go through the pain and suffering of healing if I did something stupid. It would be a waste of time making my bike look good on a saturday morning only to go try something stupid only to wreck it. In your best jerky boy's voice (I crashed and my shoe's fell off).

This would be a great video to show at the start of all MSF courses. So people can realize the dangers in riding bikes. Its not always the rider, sometimes its the pogs in the vehicles.

Went for a nice ride yesterday as the weather was GORGEOUS here in N Florida. And the whole time, this video was replaying in my head.

Some of that was hard to watch, because you know someone died. The lanesplitters and the hotdogs were flirting with disaster.. I feel for the ones that got nailed by cagers not paying attention...

agreed

feel bad for all involved in each one :please:

expect the unexpected

posted speed limits can save lives "ride to live, Live to ride"
