worth spending money on the busa?

well guys, busa, no matter how much we love it is starting to grow old... I am still in love with it though, although I am not getting the chance to ride it often lately (cold...and got a car! yipee - irrelevant).

so, with the new busa coming out next year our bike's price will drop. I love it, adore it although my friends laugh at me with me and my 'concrete mixer' as they name it (although i wooped their asses with it hehe!). I have quite a few extras on, but i'd love to have better brakes, steel brake lines, etc, but am not sure if spending money on it is wise.

what do you guys think? keep in mind I am not the richest of guys. and what about when the new busa comes out? how will I sell this one?

bothers me quite some time now...

for the time being though, there's nothing else I'd rather have than the busa... my baby. I've ridden the k6, fast as hell, AWESOME brakes, but still not a busa...

prices will stay as they are for used one. if anything throw a turbo on yours and the new busa will be looking at your rear tire.
there is allways going to be somebody to buy the busa used. the reputation is vast to everone, especially younger people.
but and its a big but, you are not going to get much for the add ons, on yours if you sell. i like to keep my stock crap if i sold or traded mine so i could just sell the mods on flea bay.

Yeah, I would keep it, it's a classic! Always will be, and there is always something new to do to your busa!

the only time that it would actually matter what others think of my bike would be if i was going to sell her and Lucy is not for sale...if you are going to keep yours, who cares what everyone else thinks

but like pusher said, you will not get the money back if you start modding it...however, if the brakes are your only complaint, put some braided lines, wave rotors, and aftermarket pads on and enjoy...if you are afraid of not having the "king of the road" anymore, put on a turbo, NOS, supercharger, or combination of them and try to hang on since a stock bike will never keep up

you just have to decide what you want and figure out how you can make it appear in your garage

happy riding

Just look at the current price for a used Busa vs. a new Busa. I am not holding my breath on seeing a big change in 08, sorry, but even if it does change, a bike that has stayed as popular as the busa has for as long as it has will have a draw for the "old body style". If there is a big change you will see guys complaining about "how ugly the new one is" and they will still be buying the current body style. Don't sweat it.

Oh, and that is one fast "concrete mixer"

, tell your friends to go trade their 600's in for a real bike.

A.) Dont sell it cause something new is coming out.
B.) Be happy with what you have.
C.) Ride the dam thing and enjoy it!

Why would the price drop??
Since 1999 to now it is KING of the streets!!!

It has a cult following that no sportbike had before and everyone knows what a HAYABUSA is .

Any automotive investment is not going to return the money spent.

And no matter what bike you buy, some one will laugh at you. At least now they are teasing you out of fear.

I say if you are happy then go with it.

your on both sides of the fence. If you love then keep it. if it's not your thing anymore sell it.

I'd mod it myself. When you can't ride working on it is just as fun. Not really, but it's fun

If you are looking fo rmore stopping, The lins arent to expennsive, at $129 for fornt and back, you could sell your stock ones for $40 or so, so your under a hunred bucks. if you were thinking of putting a couple thousand in and had the means to buy the new one when it comes out, I would say no, but the steel brake lines make such a difference its a no brainer...
Good Luck, I was going to wait for the new busa but I have been waitingsince 03 and couldnt take it anymore, so I just through 12K into a nw 06 LE, should be fun when its done...

So lets see, if  a new and improved busa comes out next year or beyond .

1. would your bike become instantly ugly?

answer: No . the busa is one of the most beautiful bikes ever built.

2. Would your bikes performance become an instant embarrrassment?

answer: no. the busa is fast as shid! Most riders can't ride the bike in stock condition to it's potential.

3. Would aftermarket parts still be available.

answer: yes. with so many busas in use, aftermarket parts will be available for many years to come, and new products will continue to be developed.

4. What if you did not like the design, color options, riding position, or PRICE of the new improved busa?

answer: your fugged if you sell the bike you have now that you love. now you can look for a nice used old style busa like you had, in a color and condition that would be acceptable and pay retail.

Bottom line, you are the only one who can make the decision, but for me, I would be content to keep my busa for the rest of my riding life, I just love this bike!

well, listen, i'd love to keep my bike but what tires me the most is seeing my baby grow old...

...meaning, there's a new scratch here, a little rust there, a little blur there... and there are some parts not worth replacing since they work right-no matter what they look like, and then again, i'd hate to give it and get another one and have to remod it, etc.

let alone that mine right now is how I want it except scratches and stuff. and rides how i want it. i rode my friend's busa the other day and it was sooo different. oh, well, looks like i am gonna have to wait till the 08 and see what happens. maybe god looks after me by then and i am given the chance to keep this busa AND buy a new one!

more power would be nice. do i need it no do i want it hell yeah. mine has allmost 21K now. spend a little money on it. since i ride every day rain shine or A$$ cold like today 29F. gota have a little fun. yeep it its not going up in $$$$ going down enjoy do a few mods like.

I sold my 03 and was pretty much sorry as soon as I did. I rode a Harley for a couple of years but I missed the Busa the whole time. Man.. I'm kind of and old guy, I'll be 60 in July. To me the Busa is the best bike I have ever owned. It does everything from touring to racing and everything in between, and it does it well. Thats why I got rid of the Harleys and got a beautiful 05 Busa. I'm keeping this one. Its got all the power, character and personality I will ever want in a motorcycle.

don't know about the all new and improved 08 busa but the 07 gixxer 1000 sure looks good to me and may very well be my next bike, hopefully sitting in the garage next to the busa if the wife doesn't throw a tantrum

My question to you would be, "Even if the new Busa is good, why would you turn your back on the huge aftermarket that the current Busa has?"

(Fate @ Dec. 16 2006,16:57) so I just through 12K into a nw 06 LE, should be fun when its done...
