You asked for it. Goldwing Bike Porn

Not really GoldWing perse. But I bought this to pull behind it. So it's sort of porn for the porn.

Meet a Quicksilver 2.0 motorcycle camper.

Has A/C not shown in pic. Has 12V piped into the interior space. Has a spot to put in a little refer on the tongue so you can avoid ice in coolers and keep your food cold for as long as you want. And a mount for a little generator to run the A/C.

Full Queen size bed.

I'm 6'6" and I can stand up in it.

I thinks it called glamping.

Needs a little love. But minor stuff.

Hi. WOW. Inever throught you could get that much in that small space.

More porn on Goldwing porn.

Upgrading the little camper. It has a few weaknesses. Up sized the Air Conditioner. The little 5000 BTU wasn't up to the task of hot humid southern climates. I set the camper up indoors. Took all night for the little unit to make it liveable.

The 8K unit does it in about 20 mins.

Next is the electrons.

Has a primitive 12V lead acid system. No self charge. Run til flat.

So I upgraded to LIon. Fit a 50Ah LifePo in the little box the little lawn mower battery used. A challenge finding the best size. This can run the lights and fans for a week without recharging. The 12V refer about 4 days

That little box is 5"x8".

I'm hoping to find some controllers that will fit in there. It's all aluminum and all welded together. Not easy to modify the box.

I'm going to do solar charging and DC/DC charging off the bike alternator. So I'm shopping for small.

Haven't done an update here in awhile.

After shopping through about 6 Solar Controllers nothing would work well in that little area. So I went a different route and went with an exterior Marine grade weatherproof controller.

So then you measure another dozen times to figure out how to snuggle it past the battery that will be behind it. So I finally got to getting it in position.

Next was trying to figure out how to interface my solar panels into the controller. It brought me back to my 5x8 box the factory provided me.

So I decided I'd make a plug in for the panel cable. As I'm going down the road, the sun charges the battery.

So I went to HD and looked at some sheet metal stock. Awww hell naw you ain't getting $35 for that! I scrounged around and thought, maybe old license plates. Wasn't thrilled with that but I was considering it.

When luck would have it my neighbor has a new A/C put in. The old unit was going to be hauled off. I grabbed my tape measure and tools and harvested some great pieces of it. Perfect metal gauge.

So I did it this way.

Note: Trying to place pics in a particular order here is beyond me. They just go wherever the server decides to place them. And I don't know why they duplicate.

The cables are plugged in to the trailer so my canvas girl could start to make my covers. Those cables are routed up to the panels on top of trailer.

But you can see the controller works. The battery charge etc is now readily viewable by me anytime I may need to see.

I'll post separately more in next post. Managing the pics is a PITA on this board.
