08 Oil Change Pics

So the '08 still requires that entire fairing to be removed?  That's my biggest complaint about the first generation Busas.  I was really hoping from the initial peek at the new bikes and what I'd assumed needed to be removed that oil changing would be easier

Great directions though...should provide great help to our new '08 owners

It looks like alot in the pics, but I think most people could remove in 5 minutes, once your comfortable. I think the biggest thing is to take it slow where the upper part tabs into the upper fairing. Fits in just so, could be frustrating if in a hurry. Learned alot of great stuff here about Generation One Busa's. Look like the two have many similarities still. Hard to improve a great thing!

Hey, if I had an '08, I'd still enjoy doing the oil changes, but I'll admit I was stoked to see what I thought was a smaller panel to be removed for the work

On the back side of this upper fairing, there are little arrow type tabs

These "U" shaped pockets grab the tabs. They will separate without using too much force.

looks nice without the bolts but that looks like something could break if done wrong??
Yep, This intersection I believe to be the most critical. You have to work with it a little but it goes together nicely. Some of this "tab" stuff I deburred with a file for easier fit. Downside could be rattle or not as secure fit? Go at these parts with a little patience and it will come apart and go together fine. Someone mentioned blue painters tape, there is a possibility to slip, and let one part "ride" on top of anothers paint.

yes.the blue tape is a great tip for the old ones and Im sure the new!!

only use the blue though,Ive seen other tape take off Suzuki paint as they dont prep the plastic well before painting..its shiny under the paint and I have no idea as a bodyman how it even sticks!!

Yeah, when I cut holes for my sliders I tried to scrape off some paint. Interesting paint on plastic job. Reminded me of Fisher-Price Power Wheels Plastic.

Havent got mine yet, how many quarts does it hold and what filter? any thoughts on fram if so what #?
Filter is same as Gen1 (see pic). Don't know Fram #, but I bet lots of people here do, or search will give answer. Quanity is 3300ml, 3.5 US qt. The gallon jug has half a quart left over.

Pic of oil and filter, yes I know it's Kawasaki oil. Dealer told me it was fine. Ill switch to synthetic on my next oil change.
