I retorted that Star Wars was the first movie I ever saw in the theater as a kid in 1977. I was six and my dad took me n my two older brothers in our '72 Ford F150 Pickup to see it, the four of us squeezed onto the bench seat.
My wife and I have this really odd running marriage joke, that I have to text her shots of the menu, and she'll choose my meal because after 25 years together, she knows what I want better than I do. She's probably right.
How did people ever settle in towns with the names; Stovepipe, Furnace and Death in their titles? Nice to see another Z900RS out and about. Never see one around here. No other Hayabusas?
Our second day of riding, we were blessed with perfect weather. 80 degrees in Death Valley, I'll take it. The first year we were here we swam in the pool as temps were around 90 - in March, next season, it was snowing over the mountain passes outside the park.
I wanted to leave early - 7am departure, which takes some coaxing to get the group rolling.
Gas was only 6.36 here, for comparison, One year ago it was 4.14, we thought that was cheap for the middle of the desert. We had a running bet of what we predicted Furnace Creek would be at the center of the park. It's always super high there.
Our day of arrival in the park was a bit of good luck. The day prior on Thursday, there were 50mph winds in the valley which produces quite the sand storm. There was sand everywhere on everything. Yah, nope. This sand is all from Thursday, the day before we got there.
Luc says let's ride.
Short ride over to Mesquite Dunes in the distance, a mini-desert in the middle of the desert.
