We just call it 'The Sign'. It's a pilgrimage place in Northern California for bikers to come to.

'The Sign' is just to the west of Red Bluff at the start of Highway 36. Peter was pretty jazzed to get his picture here.

If you're headed eastbound on Highway 36, you'd ride right by it and never know it was here.

It used to say 140 Miles - CalTrans moved the sign 10 miles west.

Had to say my final goodbye to Peter - he'll be back.

You know, the loop from Red Bluff to Redding to Eureka and Fortuna then back to Red Bluff on 36 would be a great day trip. You could start/stop from anywhere between the points. Hmmmm, from here……hmmmm :D

Final leg of my journey back to homebase.
Stopping on the side of Mount Lassen near Mill Creek is one of my little quiet spots in the forest I take breaks at when riding across the state.

Trying to stay at higher elevations to stay out of the valley heat. Headed into North Lake Tahoe on Highway 89. The surrounding mountain tops above these valleys are 6000 ft.

Awesome ride up to Oregon! 1850-mile weekend.

Left at 4am. Made it home by 6pm. - 14 hours straight on the bike.

36-hours total of riding on the bike for Thursday-Sunday holiday weekend. :D

We're headed back to ride Oregon in August 2025, but with an entirely new route for an all-new tour.
