One of the highlights of Sequoia NP is Morro Rock, pictured here. In the 1930s, stairs were carved into the side of this dome rock, and they are crazy steep. The 360 view at the top is amazing. Unfortunately, it's still closed.

You can still see the burn scar from the August 2021 Sequoia wildfire that ran through the park last fall. And how random the fire is burning some parts, and completely skipping other portions of the mountainside.

Sequoia is actually two national parks. The Sequoia portion is the southern half, and Kings Canyon is the northern half. The two parks are separated by a highway that winds through the Sequoia groves along the crest of the Sierra Nevada Range, south to north.
