Favorite section of Highway 128 through the redwood forest - the redwood forest section was repaved a short while back and it's pure bliss

See the discoloration on the bottom of all the redwoods - that's from flooding - that's actually the water line.

Comptche-Ukiah Rd is regarded by some as one of the best motorcycle roads in the Coast Range - fun short blast to the tiny forest town of Comptche

We always ride to Comptche, but we never head inland from here on Orr Springs Rd - Finally designed a tour to ride up and over the range

Orr Springs Rd

Which gets progressively more narrow

From two lanes to a single lane through the forest

Been a long time since we've ridden Orr Springs Rd ... as in 20 years long time.

And 4 Hayabusa(s) ago...

It used to be super goaty road, but they recently chip sealed it and the ride is awesome now

Orr Spring Rd rides to Orr Hot Springs

Orr Hot Springs was a popular resort and stage station on the road between Ukiah and Mendocino, along the main fork of Big River, which here flows in a deep, wide canyon. A hotel and cottages furnished accommodations for guests, and tents were erected during the summer when needed. Five springs rise near the hotel, ranging in temperature from about 70° to 104°. One of the springs rises in a small swimming plunge, and the others supplied tub and plunge baths. The resort is still in existence

We recently learned Mountain View Rd had been repaved. Mountain View Rd used to be a really goaty road over the range and out to the ocean
