2024 Pashnit Touring on a Hayabusa

We had such a big group of riders on this tour... 22 bikes... we split the tour group up into two restaurants on either side of the street.

Yep, that’s gotta be Cambria, the home of the $14.50 BLT. You can tell you’re on the coast, sitting in the sunlight at noon and everyone still has all their gear on.

Ha! Ya caught that, huh? Yup, the ocean is just down the street in Cambria, but we can't go to our favorite restaurant on Moonstone Beach with 22 bikes. This tour group is way too big for that sort of thing.

Not always about going fast, sometimes you just find yourself a good back road, got it all to yourself, and just rolling along enjoying the sunny day on the bike.

Trying to replicate a photo I took 15 years ago on this road - this sort of thing never works. Is this the same spot? I think so.

Plus Santa Rosa Creek Rd is in a constant state of deterioration.

When you ride up Santa Rosa Creek Rd, it runs up a narrow canyon, then gets to a spot we call The Wall where it goes straight up through several steep switchbacks climbing to the top of the Coast Range.

I always tell the riders to stay to the outside line on these steep switchbacks.

What this road is famous for... The View, with the ocean in the distance which is clearly visible without the fog along the coast.

One of my favorite picture spots along the Pacific Coastline.

Back in the Olden Days when we all read print magazines, this is where the mags would come to shoot their cover photos for Rider, Cycle World, etc.

You were wondering... This is what riders miss when they never get off the main roads... Santa Rosa Creek Rd is the northern half of this loop off Highway 1 into the Coast Range.

What constant deterioration looks like:

The group always stops at the summit to take it all in.

How do you get so many on-board photos? It's called a Speed Sling + Cruise Control.

You can get them for a couple bucks on eBay. Although no one carries old fashioned big cameras anymore except Yours Truly

My view all day. Over 200,000 miles with this view. Well, okay, four different Hayabusas over the last 20 years.

Randy has ridden over 40, 50, 60? tours with me. The guys tease him because he's in every other group photo.
