A rebuild process

Well the upper mount showed up and it doesn’t even look close just from the first look. Lots of sections look off, and it’s not a good sign the boxes looked like it had been opened 500x

Maybe it's a redesign (cheaper way to manufacture it) its not Gen I. Does it fit? Looks close. Chinese 50 dolla one?
Rubb.
rubb?
watching his pics i would say he got a gen2.
see sidefairing and tail cover - they are definitely gen2 so he will need the gen2 upper mount 4 cockpit
the gen1 never will fit, i guess.

and the new mount - that way built i´ve never seen it before :dunno: and i doubt it would fit - big hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

and if it really should fit and built solid I would like to know where it comes from and how much it cost.
the original part from suzuki is, as far as i know, not really cheap - even used / pre-owned.

That thing doesn’t fit. And it’s not close at all when it comes to the mounting points, I did buy another one so I’ll see how that turns out when it shows up in a few days.

It doesn’t fit, I had it mocked up but after looking at it and see what the original one looked like it was off to much for me to use it comfortably. I bought another one so I’ll see how that turns out. There is a guy on eBay selling a used OEM one. It didn’t notice it until after I bought the second one

Frank, the one that he bought are all over the net advertised to fit Gen II. My Canadian sites have them. I dont know what the deal is with these things. They closely resemble some years of Gixxer 1000. IDK.

seemingly 1:1 like the original and brand new and cheaper?
i don´t think that´s possible.

the other one for 47 bucks could be a top price if it fits as they say.

I ordered one coming from Jacksonville, should be here in a few days or so, But I will keep this in mind, as well. The one I sent back, picture wise from the listing looks correct until you get it, and it doesn't look close.

As I’m waiting for the battery to show up, I was like let me pull the old one out. And then I find this, whatever this is. It has a fuse that split between them, the fuse is good. I pulled this little cap to find this metal connector or whatever. Anyone have an idea of what this is? No name or anything. I thought it was for the DDM HIDs but I’m not certain

Awesome to know that. I got the battery in right as I posted the last one. I put in her, she fired right up. I took video but I’ll stick it on my Instagram page. Cluster reads well, no lights, full tank of gas maybe, it reads full but who knows, reads all the gears, time is correct and so is the mileage. She sounds pretty angry, lol

That's awesome! Gotta feel good to get past that nervousness. Now just need to do the cleanup.

Exactly right, any ideas of what to clean her with, a specific type of soap? All I have is Meguiars

I'd use a good automotive cleaning soap to get any grease or residue off-especially off the tires and brake surfaces-before the test ride....

A light soft bristled brush would work well on the rims and heavily soiled areas...
